Deleted the red trim
For those interested in what it looks like with the trim piece body matched I had it vinyl wrapped last week - very happy with the results. Probably going to also do the badges in white

I can't stop looking at this blue...plus I like blue cars anyway ;)
GLI40 6MT 22k. I have some weird issues happening on my car and wondering if anyone else has experienced any of it.
Warning for key fob was appearing on dash. Sometimes low battery, sometimes saying key was not in vehicle. I changed the batteries in both and issue hasn’t stopped. Still showing key not in vehicle for a few mins everyday.
Engine light is on. Again. Random cylinder misfires. Sometimes can feel misfire on cold start. It has had the software update, plugs and coils seem fine, good quality gas, air filter is new, maintenance is good, oil change every 5k.
And this is the weirdest.. I put my windows up and lock my car and walk away. A few hours later I get a notification on the app that my windows are down, or the doors are unlocked, or the trunk is open. (It’s not just the app, the car actually has windows down etc). I have the only keys, live in the middle of nowhere without neighbors.
Anybody have any ideas? As it sits the car is not modded at all. Previously had intake, tune, exhaust, but I removed everything to bring back to stock a while ago when issues started happening but it never stopped. I’m positive nothing got broken in that process. Car was modded at 5k miles and put back to stock at 18k. Issue started at 15k. I brought it to the dealer but issues are random and of course didn’t happen while they had it. I do plan on taking it back to the dealer but it’s far away and I use my car for work. I normally do most work myself and hoping anyone here has any ideas first. Thanks in advance.
Hey folks, first time poster. Currently I have a 2024 GLI40, but I just got an e-mail from the guy I usually get my car from at the dealership, he stated that they received notice from VW that the 2027 GLIs won’t be offered with a manual transmission. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
Any photos and/or opinions on these??? Thanks!
After months of wait its finally here! My first car!! Absolutely in love drives so so well. Got it at 34k OTD.
No travel assist errors after install ,threw in a a klr module to help w that
Someone scraped my GLI I got a few weeks ago in the parking lot so it’s currently in the shop getting fixed, and will approximately take 2 weeks. My insurance gave me a rental, which happened to be a regular Jetta SE. It’s a nice car, but unfortunately it’s just been way too boring to drive compared to my GLI and I miss my car rn 😭
On a 2025 vw gli, I recently changed my tires & wheels set up to 235/40 Dimax Radar R8+ tires with Fast FCO4 8"x18" E40 wheels.
Ever since, I’m mainly feeling vibration in my steering wheel specially at high speeds.
Steering wheel is stable, there's no shaking, wobbling or pulling and i have complete control over the car even at speeds a high as 130-200 kph. I do feel the same amount of vibration on brake pedal but there's no pulsing and vibration doesn't escalate when i brake.
They're balanced properly and road force check (not balance) on hunter machine for both front tires came 6 & 8. After that I rotated my fronts to back and was still getting same vibration.
The plastic hub centric rings sit flush and tight on the center hub, but i noticed they all have stress marks and shears on them, one of them had a cracked piece on the outer edge. So I got aluminum ones, it seemed vibration got less intense, but it’s still there.
Bolts are cone shape not oem. But everytime i take them off, they leave some dust type residue on the wheels, not sure where they come from and not sure if it means bolts are cheap quality and is contributing to vibration!
What could the cause for vibration be? Do I need to spend the money on road force balancing, even tho road force check came back below 10? It’s driving me nuts after spending all this money…
So I have a 2015 GLI MK6 with Fender audio and I also have a 2024 Golf R which ofc has the H/K audio. Both have subwoofers factory. Long story short I replaced the sub in my R with an aftermarket one, that was plug n play so you’d never know it was there. Is it possible to get a connector and wire in the R’s factory sub with my Fender audio in the GLI? I have the car stripped out and hopefully this winter I’m gonna do a cage new suspension parts ( basically replace anything I possibly can) But the audio with the Fender is perfect just needs a little more bump. And back seats back have sound denoting but I still need to do doors and behind all trim in the trunk ( but not spare tire spot) ( random 6.5 I saw one day , passed the same car in my R and dude was like 65 🤣🤣 )
I’m considering giving up my SUV for something smaller and very much leaning towards the GLI. With a set of snow tires and common sense of winter driving does, the GLI preform well ?
Walked out to a nice parking buddy
Got a smoking deal on some mk8 Adelaides with fresh tires. Hoping the look grows on me a bit 🤣
about to tint my windows and I was wondering what y’all’s favorite combo was. thinking of doing 20% front 15% back,, no windshield for now
Just coming on here to make sure my vw is okay and see if this is a normal amount of vibration
Hello I have 109k miles roughly on my 2019. The car only has a stage 1 93 octane tune and TCU tune (dsg). As far as bolt ons i only have an intake and an aftermarket turbo inlet. Should I just stick with OEM plugs? Or opt for the NGK R7437-9's or 8s? Also I installed my intake no problem and have replaced O2 sensors, I assume this is a job I can just do on my own?
