Why is the left side of this box that leads to the air filter so open? I'm no mechanic, but would there be any benefit or downside to partially block some of that openness to have more of the air from the grille pushed through to the air filter?

On the 26 GLI, the air comes in from the passenger side of the grille since the drivers side is blocked off, and with that, it would seem that in order for air to make it to the air filter, only what doesn't shoot straight in through the gap, then turns right, then down, then up again actually makes it to the air filter, and then turbo..

Already did my joined the club post. Just got it home from PPF and ceramic coating. Michelin Pilot AS4s (and a garage spot rental) next. Love this color. Replacement for my totaled 2019 Alltrack SE, hoping to get a lot more miles and life out of this one. Manual transmission (in big bad NYC).

6-Speed GLI in monument grey with the black package. Not loving the lip spoiler and am considering removing it, that's how it was on the lot.

Replacing a 13k 6-Speed 2019 Alltrack SE with the Driver Assistance and Appearance package that was totaled by another driver going 50mph in a 25mph neighborhood zone at an intersection. The Alltrack was the perfect spec for me but I love rowing my own gears and I really like how restrained the interior styling of the GLI is compared to the remaining manual sedans on the market.

I love the engine growl in sport mode, will be using this as a four person family car - we live in an urban area, use public transit and bikes a TON, car is mostly for trips out of town or city hauling of things that can't be moved otherwise. How do others feel about the spoiler strip? I'm leaning strongly to removing it. The staff at the paint protection shop all liked it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I LOVE the monument grey color. Changes in the light and I love the pale blueness of it.

I just bought a 2026 Jetta GLI Autobahn 6-speed manual in Black Pearl, and I love it. (I traded in my 2016 VW Sport Jetta 1.8 Turbo 5-speed manual toward it, and I was sad to part with it, but couldn't keep it and get the new one.

I've read that the paint chips easily on it. What are you guys doing for paint protection? Ceramic coating? Paint protection film?

I’ve owned my GLI for a few months now. I was just walking out to leave my shop the other day and noticed this on the driver front bumper. Is this on all autobahns or just newer models?

Need help finding fuse box diagrams for an 07 gli, keep finding random other diagrams. Fsi motor, 6 spd manual, has hid headlights, factory fogs, sunroof, amp under driver seat (not sure if that’s an option or they all have that in this year). Folks say it’s in the owners manual, but I did not get the manual when I got car, grabbed one when I found a stereo out at the salvage yard for a golf cuz it has security code written in there. Can’t find it on Ross tech forum, and can’t find same one in VW vortex. Got a bad parasitic draw, and it’s hard to figure out other electrical issues when idk what fuses even do what. Online keeps giving wrong info with completely different fuse boxes, or base 2.5 with different options. Any help appreciated!

7.5 is getting APR lowering springs + front lip. ‘04 has 169k miles and just trying to keep maintained at this point 🤣
