What mods should I do?

Just bought a 2021 Mk7 Jetta GLI with a downpipe, 3 inch catback, Cold air intake, Apr coils and PCV system, and an FMIC. I want to know what mods i should do? Dealership told me they replaced the clutch, but the shop I just took it to said it has a performance clutch. The previous owner definitely had a performance clutch on it because he had a stage 3 on this at one point. Any recommendations would be amazing! It’s a 6 speed btw and S trim

New to me GLI

Picked up a 24 GLI 40th anniversary with 21k miles

Love the car but it immediately had the misfire issue at cold start. I have an appointment tomorrow with a dealer since I’m still under warranty. Hoping they will help me with the software update that supposedly fixes this issue. Other than that I love the car

My GLI recently has been acting a bit weird, and when accelerating hard and letting go sometimes, the RPMs stay in place and spools down very slowly

Wondering if anyone can provide any insight on what the issue could be? I feel like it does this more in the lower gears or in sport mode. The car has also felt a little less torquey. It’s a 2023 with a DSG. Wondering if there’s some kind of issue with the turbo. Another concern I had was vacuum leak. Or maybe im just overthinking?

BBS Rims

The best part about the 2004.5 VW GLI, it came with stock 18’ BBS rims (RC336). Need to be refurbished but not in bad condition overall

HKS Blowoff Valve

Did a risky experiment…

bought a cheap Temu brand HKS blow off valve, was only $30; failed within a month to where internal springs failed to open

Bought a real HKS blowoff ($250) and performance is even better

Lesson learned: do not buy cheap mechanical parts

Opinions

Hi guys, looking for feedback.

The question regards wheels and what I should do.

The stock belvederes are of high quality and low weight. I like this. I also like 18's as the extra rubber helps soften the blow of potholes.

My initial thought was to add spacers, flush them out and be done with it all.

However,

I consistently circle back to wanting polished wheels as I feel it would look really good.

My problem is the fact that I'd be ditching high quality wheels for sub par spec unless I spend 3k.

Are there any budget forged wheels out there that have been long term tested ? Is it worth it ?

Used 2019 Autobahn or S?

Hey guys,

I’m shopping for a used MK7 GLI, and my budget puts me in the 60-90k mile range. Right now I’m deciding between two cars:

- 2019 Autobahn - 90k miles - $17k
- 2019 S - 86k miles - $13k

I know the 2019 Autobahn doesn’t have DCC, and that’s actually a plus for me. At the mileage I’m shopping, the struts are likely to need maintenance soon and that’s not something I want to deal with.

From what I understand, the main Autobahn upgrades are:
- Leather ventilated seats
- Upgraded sound system
- Larger infotainment screen
- Digital cockpit
- Sunroof

For me:
Want:
- Sunroof
- Better sound system

Indifferent/dislike:
- Larger screen
- Digital cockpit (I prefer analog gauges)

Unsure:
Leather ventilated seats

I live somewhere with long, brutally hot summers, and my current car has black leather seats that are miserable in the heat. I like the premium feel and easier cleaning of leather, but I’m wondering if the ventilated seats actually make enough of a difference to justify the extra $4k over the S. If you’ve owned one in a hot climate, I’d love to hear your experience.

Given my priorities, would you spend the extra $4k for the Autobahn, or buy the S and put that money toward mods or maintenance instead? I’d especially appreciate input from anyone who’s owned both trims or has experience with the ventilated seats in a hot climate.
Thanks!

Help turning steering wheel while car is on jack stands

I’m doing my brakes and I need to turn my wheel to access the calipers, how can I turn my wheels when the car is on jack stands? Is there any way to disable the steering lock without turning on the car?

‘21 w/ DCC Ride Quality

I have a ‘21 GLI Autobahn with DCC and 76,000 miles on the clock. One of my favorite things about this car has always been its ride quality.

Driving home from vacation on the NY Throughway now with the DCC set to “Comfort”, the car suddenly feels like it’s crashing over every road imperfection in our path. Apart from checking the tires, what else should I (or my mechanic) look at?

CODE READER..

Hey y'all,
I'm in search of a good code reader for my ‘17 Jetta GLI as she just hit 111k miles. Are these 3 any good?
