Dutch House Apartments & Living near the elevated subway experience

Hey Everyone,

I'm considering moving to LIC and we visited Dutch House. It is close to my jobs (less than 20 minutes). I’ve read some unsavory reviews, and I was just wondering if there was anyone that could give us a realistic picture of what it is/was like to live there. As well how's the noise insulation especially living half a block away from the N/W? Thanks in advance!

Employer delayed my start date by a month because Vialto dropped the ball on my Visa. I already resigned and signed an lease. Is this normal?

Vialto dropped the ball on my Immigration. I already resigned and signed an lease. Is this normal?

I’m in a massive bind right now and need a reality check on whether this is standard behavior for Big 4 immigration vendors, because I am incredibly stressed out.

I accepted an offer to join PwC Advisory in New York as a Senior Associate, with an agreed-upon start date of June 1st. PwC set me up with Vialto to handle my TN Visa petition. (May 2nd)

Vialto explicitly told me that if they needed any changes, updates on start date, or additional documents from my end, they would contact me by May 15th. That date came and went with complete radio silence, so I assumed everything was on track. In good faith, I went ahead and did what any normal person would do: I officially resigned from my current consulting job and signed a binding lease on an apartment in New York that starts next week.

Now, out of nowhere, HR just reached out saying Vialto hasn't finished the paperwork and my start date might be pushed back an entire month to July.
I am looking at a massive financial bleed for the month of June through absolutely no fault of my own.

Has anyone else dealt with Vialto or PwC delaying a start date this close to day one? Is it normal for them to completely leave candidates out to dry like this? Any advice on how to handle the HR meeting next week would be massively appreciated.
