[binaric yelling]
Going to be having words with the tech priest when we get back. If we get back.
I always thought pistols should work this way
Melee weapon goes to the offhand and is used in place of the pistol whip. Just feels more 40k.
Small shout out to whoever added the offhand punches that happen when reloading the phosphor pistol though. I see your hard work and it delights me.
hey what gives
The stormspeeder doesn’t count as a unit? This is blatant MoW discrimination. They may not be at as much risk as characters, but they *always* explode in solidarity when the team faces defeat, and I think we sometimes forget that. If I miss out on the great sword because too many Arena punks got blatted by my nicely levelled storm speeder, I’m gonna be so mad.
Also while any devs who might be reading have the stormspeeder files open, a good quality of life increase would be if you could use its passive on a unit who’s already fired a ranged attack making it shoot who they shot… well, that’d be nice. I forget they exist all the time, until I’m wondering why my turn hasn’t ended. Damn… am I also discriminating against stormspeeders? This requires further examination.
Gaaaawd Dammit, now what?
So I upgraded Rho’s legendary cloak to mythic and unlike ever other rarity the outcome is random, and now his cape has turned to greaves*. I could have known this‘d happen before I did it if I’d read the thing, but did not. Blame high spirits at finally getting my boy through mythic school. My mistake or not, I think this is quite a dirty trick.
Sooo, that aside, what do? Just use em anyway? I usually prefer the mix as so many things bypass armour entirely, including raid bosses who are the thing he’ll mostly be stabbing, and he is rather squishy. As written if I equip them I‘ll never get to go back to cloak even if I do pull one later, is that right?
*the entire Adeptus Mechanicus are having a big meeting to work out how this is physically possible. There is a lot of beeping, and the candle bill is going to be through the roof.
I had forgotten this happened and it would have been amaze to see on screen.
I suspect this was in the extra long cut given that they chopped out about an hour and a half to get it down to time, so I’m not giving up hope of ever seeing it just yet, but, damn this was so much fun.
For the unbooknitiated, [spoilers ahead] the taumoeba gets into the fuel of the Hail Mary shortly after the fishing accident, they haven’t even stabilised their orbit yet, let alone bred any nitrogen resistant strains. To get out of it they use their only source of usable fuel, the Beetles.
Rocky modifies three of the Beetles with Eridian remote controls, Grace glues them to the ship, they use them to gently fix their orbit, then reinforce the Beetles with xenonite additions to Mary’s superstructure and then shut up because it’s only time for ROCKY TO FLY THE SHIP!
I love the movie but Rocky can’t help but feel like a bit of a passenger on the Adrian trip, this situation really makes them a crew and I love it so much.
This is the voice I’d have chosen
…and how I am currently choosing to read the book.
I just want to give a quick shout out to Cara, who sacrifices all credibility to set up our man Carl for his sick line.
This is for my money far and away the weirdest line in this movie full of hard science and literal aliens. I think about it maybe four times a day. My head canon is Cara is baked at work, and my backup is that she's been burned before by some slick diplomat from Burundi who smooth talked his way into a federal employee discount.
My second weirdest line is from Carl himself, who seems to be under the impression only women and children sit. I have no explanation for this at all.
Some things the movie just does better
And this scene they knocked out of the park. The book has me welling up in lots of places, but not here. The movie, rivers of tears.
(though I will say for the book, I like the blink and you miss it joke that the science pals haven’t discussed religion)
