So I absolutely loveeee the new Venom Monk subclass, and immediately started making a character that will probably be indefinitely shelved (cries in DM), but I've been wondering on how interactions between their Envenom feature and other poisons would interact. Essentially, can you Envenom a previously poisoned weapon and receive damage from both the poison and your feature? And then if you're using a Dagger of Venom, can you also stack the 2d10 from that?

In my mind they should stack since they're from different sources (a subclass ability, application of a poison, and a magic item), verses just trying to coat a weapon in multiple doses of poison from vials (which I don't think should stack).

But I'd be curious to think what everyone else's opinions are and whether staking these is reasonable or excessive. Or if there's some rule that I'm missing.

Edit: Tl;dr Can you Envenom a poisoned weapon? And if so, could you poison a Dagger of Venom and then Envenom that?
