Bailey and walls fresh from the printers!

Bailey and walls fresh from the printers!

This was a recent Kickstarter that I backed and hopefully I can start painting somewhat soon. There is a 3d printed mini for scale (I hope that is allowed!)

I am planning on printing a bastion and watchtower for each side of the walls before cracking on with the painting. As much I'd like to print more, there is a cursed storage issue, as always!

I finally managed to paint some scenery!

I'm calling this my first "proper" bit of painted scenery, as it's my first building that I have painted. I have painted a couple of props and things before over the years though.

This is a bit of a test paint and I am happy with the majority of the details - I think the timber needs some work. I had an idea for it, but I think I glazed a bit too much brown in and it looks a bit mad now. Ooops!

I have a bunch more of the range printed out, and I'm really looking forward to cracking on and getting more painted this year. The only major issue is, storage... something I think a lot of us might have issues with!

Granny's Ruined Cottage is finally finished!

So apart from one entire Warhammer 40k bit of scenery, it turns out I haven't actually painted any scenery. In 33 years of collecting armies, apparently scenery was avoided!

I love the idea of Mordheim, and there was a kickstarter from a while ago that seemed to tick all of the boxes. This is one of those pieces. I do fully intend on scratchbuilding .. buildings too, but time as for everyone, is at a premium!

Anyway, this is certainly not perfect - for example I am not 100% keen on the timber beams that I painted. I think the brown glaze needs tuning down a little. I never attempted painting lichen etc either, so that was fun - I definitely need more reference for the next attempt.

Any constructive comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I finally painted some scenery!

I've loved Mordheim since it's release, but strangely, I have never painted up any scenery (apart from one 40k thing)! I printed it this up, along with quite a few others, to finally remedy that.

Anyway, this is a first go for a vague colour concept. I am not entirely sold on the wood side of things. I was hoping to glaze a little bit of a brown in, but honestly it looks like I went way too far on that front.

It's far from perfect, but I am certainly happy!
