Finished the Unifi Setup in my condo.

Here is the Unifi setup I Finally finished in my condo. I wanted a lot of functionality in a small space so I’d still get good use of the closet in which the data cabinet resided.
I was able to take advantage of some of the existing CAT 6 run to this box to get good AP distribution. I’m getting some pretty bitchin internet speeds via WiFi (as high as 1500Mbps and an average of over 1k everywhere on the unit.
A UCG Fiber serves as the network controller. It runs Network, Protect, and Drive. Other notables are the 5G backup WAN, Superlink radio, Unas2, Unifi UPS, Homey and Lutron Caseta hub.
This setup powers 2 cameras and 4 APs.
Tying it all together is a 10.5” Deskpi rack with various 3d printed device mounting plates designed by Mauker. I designed and printed the shelf as I couldn’t find one I liked.

Overall I’m happy with how much functionality I get without having to resort to a large std rack.

And before anyone questions my USL sensor fetish; I had to have them at every water fixture to get homeowner’s coverage bound.

Got the call: Cubitus 5822P Edition

I was fortunate enough to add the first Cubitus to my Patek collection today. Another detail I noticed is the diamond in the case that comes on all Platinum watches. Normally the diamond is round; the diamond on this Cubitus is a geometric Baguette; details…

When your wife tells you she wants a very discreet camera setup.

We recently closed on a new condo and opted to add a couple of cameras to keep track of the comings and goings of building staff with PTE (packages, maintenance etc). The unit came with existing wallpaper finishes that would not look good with large interruptions on their finish.

I opted to use the new G6 pro 360 (https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/physical-security-dome-turret/products/uvc-g6-pro-360) along with the flush mount (https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/accessories-camera/collections/dome-camera-flush-mount/products/uacc-g6-pro-360-fm?variant=uacc-g6-pro-360-fm-b)

The previous owner thoughtfully left remnants of wallpaper behind. A few minutes with an X-acto knife and some spray adhesive and I am quite happy with the end result.

The only real bummer is the fact that the flush mount kit removes both ways of audio and the IR emitters…. It would to have been nice to know that before I cut the extremely large hole in the ceiling…

Now I know when people have come/gone and if we have any packages waiting for us.

Homey/Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge Pairing Issues

I recently installed blinds and am attempting to control them VIA the Lutron Caseta App installed in Homey. When I attempt to add a shade it prompts me to pair the smart bridge. It immediately finds the bridge on the network and asks me to press the button on the bridge. That is as far as I get. The Homey app does not respond when I press the button.

In the mean time, I was able to add the smart bridge to the IOS app with no issues. When I was prompted to press the button by the IOS app it immediacy responded and added the bridge. I don't get it? Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Unifi Protect Notification Helpi

I just did a DIY install of a Unifi system in a condo. (UCG Fiber, 8 port switch, Superlink radio, 5G backup WAN, Homey Pro etc). My insurance company insisted that I have water leak monitoring as it is a second home. I added a Superlink radio and Unifi water sensors to my protect application. Water sensing and the leak alarm work very well.
I would like to have this notification also push either via text or Email to a non Unifi user. IE front desk or maintenance personnel. What is the favored method for reliably getting an email and or text message out to a third party when an alarm is triggered?

Bonus pics of my setup/custom shelf I designed to compliment my 10.5” rack. When I have time I’ll put a cord gland into the wall behind the shelf to allow power/Cat6 to run hidden into the structured wiring box beneath it.
