New to me kind of tea

I do have a few questions. The bag says to steep for 1 minute and as its new to me thats what I did. I liked it, it tasted good, I can definitely play around with it myself but as I only have 30 cups here I figure I will ask some experts. Is this the optimal length of time? Usually I drink black loose leaf and steep for 5 minutes so it just felt so short.

Second question, it doesnt feel like the whole ball opened up. Is that an issue (kinda going back to the first question here of did it need more time) or is it fine? it feels inefficient to not use all the tea but maybe this is because I come from loose leaf? Im not sure how these little cakes work when the tea cant flow around all the leaves?

Overall I very much enjoyed the tea, and am excited to try the other flavors in my bag.

First knit with my handspun

I know this cup cozy doesn't look like much, especially if you recognize my name from my other stuff, but its my first hand knit with my own handspun and was me dipping my toes into that making sure my yarn worked like yarn. It worked beautifully, and now Im off to make a colorwork tank top with a different skein I made and some stash yarn.

Pattern: https://ravel.me/saxon-cup-sleeve

I named the yarn Hibiscus. Its DK weight.

First knit with my handspun!

But certainly not the last! This was practically a swatch, making sure the yans that have looked ok knit ok.

Now Im working on a colorwork tank top where the background is commercial yarn but the star on the show will be my handspun.

Fossil Frenzy Tee

I just finished the Fossil Frenzy Tee (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fossil-frenzy-tee) and so far its my smallest needle garment if that makes sense? Prior to that my smallest garment was on a 3mm and this was on half that, a 1.5mm. The finer gauges allow for a lot more detail in the colorwork, which I love.

I have to say as someone who mainly knits sweaters knitting a summer knit was a bit stressful, not knowing how wearable it would truly be but this feels fantastic. I love this piece and it will be a treasured staple in my closet.

Yarn: Malabrego sock in fucsia and Berroco ultra wool fine in cream.

Lojan Buddy Bobbins, does anyone have a 3d print?

Picture of my last yarn for attention lol. I am wanting more bobbins but $27 before tax and shipping seems steep and I was wondering if anyone is selling 3d prints or 3d files I can take to my library.

One of these days soon I will want to spin a sweater quantity and I feel as though I need more bobbins to do so. Is there another way we are spinning a bunch of singles and then plying them? or are we doing them 200 grams or so at a time?

Does Giant Eagle Even Want Customers

There are still 3 hours until this place closes, and I dont know when they did this. They have locked and blocked all their doors except one, which is off to the side and annoying. I have to then walk all the way back past the registers to get into the store instead of walking through the front door.

This is on top of having to have their membership to scan ANYTHING or to call over an attendant for help if you forget it. They have been closing doors and access at this location for years and locking the main door after dark but its still super bright out and they are blocking doors they usually leave open by the register. This is the kingsdale center location.

Relearning to spin on a wheel

Second yarn on a wheel (in 10+ years I used to spin when I was 13-16). The big one is three ply with three strands (about 220 yards), and the small one is chain ply with the remaining two bobbins (about 50 yards). I had measured by weight but the first bobbin I seemed to have made thinner by a significant amount, still working on that consistency between bobbins.

Also: For experienced spinners do you prefer three ply or chain ply? I'm going to knit *something* with this after wet finishing and seeing if I notice any differences. However, other than the major upsides of no extra singles on bobbins and smoother color changes, are there any major downsides to a chain ply I should consider before just switching over to that for the foreseeable future?

Athena Spinning Wheel - Does anyone own one?

I was at a fiber festival yesterday and saw these owl spinning wheels that honestly are just adorable. I really do love the way they look, and I am impressed by how small they are. I'm wondering if anyone has one and what your thoughts are because it was doing a lot of things I hadn't seen in a spinning wheel.

First and foremost: No drive band. It did something they call direct drive? There's a little wheel that is connected to the flyer that rolls along the big wheel, and you adjust the point it rolls at for ratios?

Speaking of the big wheel, its perpendicular to you which was interesting but not all that dramatic.

It also fully disassembles into a very flat, singular wood piece, portable shape very quickly easily. Sure they guy was doing it all day every day they are showing their product but he had it flat in under 10 seconds and back together again in under 30 and yet it was remarkably sturdy. I really loved their use of pins. I didn't think to take a picture but in the bottom corner of my first they have it in a carry on. That's why I'm so interested honestly, as a travel week that's pretty appealing.

I just really want to know how it spins, how it holds up long term. Ive never seen a wheel like it. I'm concerned about the lack of a drive band, and the lack of a way to be sure of your ratio at a glance. I'm thinking I'd want to have lines at inch marks or something so I didn't have to pull out a tape measure every time.
