I have read that upon moving inland from the coast and exploring, Europeans described the forest as being so dense that a squirrel could jump from branch to branch and make it essentially from the coast to the Mississippi River without ever touching the ground. How accurate is this thought to be?

Rounders is never brought to America by immigrants in the early-mid 1800s (or never catches on), but instead evolves in England, Ireland, and Western Europe into a very close cousin of what we know as baseball today - with professional leagues similar to the Premier League and others.

Wired CarPlay - Phone (16 Pro Max) and Cord Placement for my 2023

I picked up my new/used 2023 Limited today and after 3 different cables, finally got CarPlay to connect. Since it has to be in the particular location for the USB plug, does anyone have suggestions or tricks for "placing" the phone when driving? I don't need access to the phone, so it can be out of the way, but I don't really want the cord dangling everywhere. Is the solution to get a VERY short cord?

Buying a used 2023 Crosstrek - any things that I should be aware of?

So I am getting a very low mileage 2023 Crosstrek from a family member. This is my first time with a Subaru. Is there anything with the Crosstrek or the brand I should be aware of or be on the lookout for?

Also, is the Starlink subscription worthwhile (the $150 annual one with the remote start and vehicle recovery which may help with insurance reduction).

Thanks in advance.

Q: Gear Guard, video while driving, storage...

I have seen many a Tesla video where video is captured while driving (accidents, near misses, etc.) and Sentry Mode where the system monitors when the car is parked. I know people also get larger external thumb drives to store data (plugged in to one of the USB slots).

I know Rivian has Gear Guard (which I have read at this point is not as adept as Sentry Mode).

Does Rivian have the same ability to record video when driving - something like you see someone weaving in traffic cause an accident and you click on the screen and it saves the last 30 secs of video footage?

Is there auto-recording from an accident?

Can you attach an extra SD card or thumb drive in one of the USB 3 slots in one of the glove compartments?

Does anyone know if R2 is going to be better than other Rivian models in this particular space (I know camera quality is better in general).

Thanks in advance.

EA charging location logic?

My local grocery store located in the NJ suburbs miles from a major highway just had ~10 new EA charging stations installed in the back of the store (still technically in the parking lot, but near the area where the supply trucks unload). What is the logic here? It is very much located in a upper middle class, single family home suburb (i.e., very few apartments). Anyone stopping to shop here would certainly have cheaper home charging available to them. I can't imagine there would be enough employee usage even if it was free or heavily discounted. Genuinely curious.

Location is Wyckoff, NJ

Early D-Day bombing in advance of the amphibious landing is far more effective than in the OTL,. Although more French civilians are killed, 85% of the German troops in and around their fortified beach batteries are destroyed by the time the first allied boots hit the sand.

Hostilities between Israel and the Middle-Eastern nations in June 1967 do not go as well for Israel as in the OTL. Projections of the numbers of Soviet-supplied equipment were far underestimated and the largely civilian sourced Israeli army begins to under-perform against unexpectedly strong force. Egyptian bombers are able to take out 75% of the Israeli aircraft and almost 50% of its airfields after being tipped off of the June 5th attack, moving their bombers and fighters 48 hours before. Israeli civilian deaths reach an estimated 5,000 by June 10th. On June 12th, Operation Shimshon is implemented and two crude nuclear devices are loaded onto trucks and detonated some 5-10 kilometers over the Egyptian border.
