Ist eine Ally-Flagge auf der CSD unpassend?

Hi zusammen,

From Plat Hardstuck to Master 4 with Lifeweaver

Hi fellow mwahs, I wanted to share my personal experience with LW:

I’ve been playing since the holidays in 2016 and currently have around 2,000 hours in total.

For pretty much my entire late OW1 to “death of OW2” career, I was hardstuck in Platinum (tank/supp). I always wanted to climb and tried to improve, but looking back, I think I was missing the consistency part. I could understand my mistakes after they happened, but in the actual match I often got nervous, reacted too late, wasted abilities, or stayed in fights way longer than I should have. So even though I had decent game sense in theory, I wasn’t always able to turn it into clean decisions in the moment.

Then I found Lifeweaver, and it finally clicked for me.

I’m not the best at aiming, and I’m definitely not the best at diving, but I always felt like my strengths were more in game sense, positioning, cooldown management, and quick reactions than pure mechanics. I also usually performed better on heroes that rely more on projectiles and decision-making rather than hitscan aim, like Brig, Sigma, and Venture.

Last season, I started trying Lifeweaver properly. I always liked the idea of being able to pull someone out of a fight and play as the person watching over everything: my positioning, my teammates’ positioning, and the enemies’ positioning. When he released, I was turned off by his weird controls, like shift to dash and swapping between weapons, so I never really touched him. I also mostly just saw him sitting at the bottom of every tier list.

But when I finally gave him a real chance in february, something clicked. I started getting more compliments in chat and a lot more “thank yous” in voice. I started enjoying his dash, his ability to hold a heal until the right moment, and how much he rewards staying alive, reading the fight, and not wasting cooldowns. I also really enjoyed the cleanse and healing buffs he got at the beginning of this season.

I’m now Master 4 (after already climbing to Master 5 once and instantly going on a losing streak back to Diamond 4 lmao). But even with that, I can honestly say that my playstyle has improved a lot, even on other supports like Wuyang and Brig.

Lifeweaver forced me to think much more about positioning, falling back when necessary, and when to shoot instead of heal, whether that means breaking turrets, shields, or pressuring isolated tanks with Superbloom. He also helped me stay calmer in fights because so much of his value comes from patience, timing, and not dying for no reason.

I’m hoping I can keep improving and maybe push for Grandmaster by the end of the season. For the first time in a long time, I feel genuinely happy with how I’m performing. Tbh, I’m also heavily grinding right now because of semester vacation, but still, it feels good.

And honestly? I don’t really want the rework anymore. I think Lifeweaver is in a good position right now, even if that means he will never truly be meta. Some heroes just don’t fit perfectly into an esports environment or certain poke comps, and that’s completely okay. Not every hero needs to be designed around pro play. Some heroes can just be strong for the people who understand them.

I would love to hear how other LW players are feeling about him this season. Are you having fun with him, or does he still feel frustrating sometimes?
