Question regarding gripper setting

I’ve been putting in the work with my various grippers and i’ve developed a habit of setting the gripper with the palm of my offhand. I understand for training purposes there’s nothing wrong with this, however I’m curious if this is “allowable” when counting a closed gripper as complete or if i must set the gripper with the fingers of my offhand.

This might be a silly post as there may not be a rule regarding this, but i’m interested in getting your takes nonetheless.

Thanks!

Thumb training w/ rubber bands and a rice bucket

I’ve found this to be a nice and pretty much free way to train your thumb alongside pinch work. I feel half the fun of grip training is coming up with/making your own training tools lol. Also i hate spending money.

Explosive vs Weighted Pull-ups for Muscle-up progression

Good morning all,

I’m working towards being able to do a muscle-up by the end of the year. I’ve seen both weighted pull-ups and explosive pull-ups as highly recommended routine additions to build the necessary strength (and explosiveness).

Currently, I can do 15 neutral grip or ~12 regular pronated grip pull-ups.

I’m curious what exercise worked better for you personally when working towards your first muscle-up.

(Also, any other sage advice that can help me on my muscle-up journey is more than welcome.)

Thanks, guys!
