I have a strange situation with my JBL 1300X MK2 when it comes to upmixing to all speakers available. Typically, turning off CAC would be the solution to this but I have to turn off Dolby Atmos as well for my bar to upmix audio. Do any of you have experience with this?
There has now been evidence the disconnect glitch is present across three years of Samsung soundbar releases. I believe the firmware updates that made the newest Q Symphony compatible is the primary driver of this disconnect. As Samsung rolled out updates on their TVs from 2024-2026, they needed to allow for the addition of their studio speakers to the system and this was only possible by updating Q Symphony and providing more availability for WiFi devices. By updating the soundbars to work well within the WiFi ecosystem, they inadvertently caused this glitch.
I used my extended warranty through my credit card to get a full refund for my Q990D that died from the firmware fiasco.
The one thing that pissed me off the most throughout the process: Samsung outright refused to provide me with proof that the bar was faulty due to bad firmware. Basically, they stated everything would have to go through my CC and they wouldn’t give any documents to them to support the claim.
Somehow friggen customer service for credit cards is better than Samsung? After chatting with my CC for a bit via email I stated that Samsung was giving me the runaround and wouldn’t take ownership for their faulty firmware and my CC said essentially “fine, sure, we’ll give you the refund” basically acknowledging that Samsung is a piece of shit.
Moved on from my 990D due to that horrendous firmware situation and now I’m getting the 1300X MK2 dialed in. Overall, as an avid music listener, it’s really no question that the 12” sub on the JBL is outperforming the Samsung by a wide margin. I no longer have that weird lack of crossover in the 990D where you can sort of tell that the sub and main bar are working in their own space almost against each other in a way. Fortunately now, the blend of frequencies seems to be more natural and pleasant.
Just booted my Q990D out of my living room due to faulty firmware. How are you all getting on with the JBL?
Uncalibrated? Calibrated? EQ settings? Curious to see what everyone uses for settings.
I’m wondering if at some point, Jason might need to reveal he’s been on both Drag Race and Drag Race All Stars as clearly no house guests know this info.
Salina is pretty well known and was just on a season of All Stars on Paramount so I do get the initial instinct to keep that a secret but I wonder if it may be advantageous to play that card at some point.

I’d like to get a running tally of those of you that are affected by these updates with the shutdown fault. Did any of you actually fix this by factory reset?
Planning to move forward with CC warranty on the 990D issue. After speaking a Samsung agent, they said I could put in the repair ticket and get a price from the repair technician. After getting the price, I could refuse service and get the price to my CC for warranty. Then the CC would take care of it if the claim is accepted.
I’m not sure this sounds normal but correct me if it is.
What in the flying shit is going on with these updates? Just roll out a patch for these bars that are affected. Are you telling me you can’t fix via future updates? People have to get their bars serviced because the firmware is so awful it fucks the whole thing up to the point you need to replace internal hardware? This is pretty insane if you ask me.

I’m a week from my 1 year Samsung warranty being up but that will be transferred over to my Capitol One 2 year warranty perk. Thinking of doing a chargeback that way instead of sending it in. Has anyone had success with this? Why kind of info would Cap One need to get this rolling?
Finally figured out a realistic budget and grabbed the Knickerbocker Embrace with the platform deck for $800 and the High Point 2 for $2300. So far so good with this combo. Had a older Beautyrest Black with semi flex box spring and a crappy frame, big upgrade on motion transfer.
What’s the remedy for this exactly? Seems like audio cutout and full reboot has been needed for both the D and F series so far. I do wonder if these updates have been rolled out to ensure proper connection to the new Q Symphony / Studio Speakers. In the process they have royally fucked up basic functionality of the soundbars in the process. This is a big yikes for me.
Before you come on here saying it hasn’t happened to you yet. That isn’t really helpful to those of us dealing with it.
WTF is with the this 1051 update for the D series soundbars? I’ve now had a full dropout every single night for two weeks. I’ll have to shut down my Apple TV and reboot to get sound back. They fucked up the update again? Even after bricking these bars last year?
I am curious about their hybrid mattresses but it’s such a local thing here, no Yelp reviews, only ship free white glove within 60 miles of their one storefront.

Doesn’t this seem low to everyone compared to the 1000 for Queen Sealy Elite, Tempur Hybrids, BR Black Hybrids?
After seeing all the comments here on this sub and watching some of the reviews on YouTube, I’m genuinely confused about Samsung’s intention with the Music Studio speakers.
All in all, Samsung missed the mark massively with these Studio 5 and 7 speakers.
