Guilty as charged, we've all been here

This is my new pragathi. I bought it about 3 days ago. Aaand I'm looking for strap suggestions. I see these posts being ignored all the time, so response is greatly appreciated! Also I wanted to talk about this watches accuracy- it's amazing. It has lost only 30 seconds in the last 3 days- that sounds quite absurd right?

The miyota 8205 in this watch is an extremely close brother to the 8210 in the Citizen Tsuyosa, difference being that the tsuyosa's movement has better looking finishing and the 8205 has an added day complication!

New Pragathi

Got the call and picked this up at the barton centre hmt. I originally wanted this for my 15th birthday and I finally got one 2 weeks later. Go check out Jalahalli and barton. They're restocked!

Watch parts

I recently have recieved my grandfather's old favre leuba sea chief. Please forgive me if this isn't the right community to post this on but it has a busted and tangled up hairspring. The only realistic choice to revive it is to find a spare movement. I know about mumbai specials in the favre leuba community, but I need to know where in Mumbai I can find a spare movement like it's. I've found plenty of Frankenstein watches like it with the exact movement but I would need suggestions here. I know mumbai is infamous for making these franken-leubas with all sorts of mixtures, but I need a spare parts movement and that's it. Where in Mumbai or bangalore perhaps can such a need be fulfilled?

No hmt should cost any amount as high as 8000 (rupees)

As of recent, I've recieved my kohinoor hmt mod, a unique and bafflingly pretty machine, one that constantly fetches me compliments. I consider getting this janata, in white from a local watch mechanic now. It's a NOS watch waiting to have another wrist, but in terms of this kohinoor, one I've put two weeks of constant use of now on- I cannot be more pleased. I used this opportunity to get a unique kohinoor, at that.

Below are some of my hmt hot takes:

  • The essence of an hmt revolves around affordability and high quality for the price
  • There isn't any major quality difference between mods and original hmts
  • Hmts are obviously made cheap, definitely not a bad thing, an issue arises when it fails it's purpose to be cheap.

Purchase NOS hmts from local stalls and repair shops. They can be found cheap for 2 to 3 thousand rupees and less if you drive a hard bargain. Often these watches have been untouched for years, due to low demand by the common Indian man.

If you live in bangalore, you should have no reason not to visit some local shops of vidyapeetha circle, where allwyns and hmts poise to collect dust.

And finally, enjoy your watches
