Do any fellow PE musicians have experience using a PWM Malevolent to make PE/death industrial?

After recently purchasing an Arturia Microbrute, I have come to the unfortunate realisation that this synth lacks some important features which I feel would help me in my quest towards making my own power-electronics and death industrial stuff (namely, the VCF and VCA both share the same single envelope - I need something with at least two envelopes for the kind of sound design variety I am aiming for). After doing a little more research, I have come across the PWM Malevolent. It seems to be the best thing next to an OG Korg MS-20 in the world of semi-modular mono synths which can make all manner of gnarly, disgusting and filthy industrial soundscapes. If you can’t recommend the PWM Malevolent, what synths do you recommend?

An original Silent Hill inspired trip hop/downtempo beat which I recently produced

I’m a big of fan of Akira Yamaoka and his work on the soundtracks for the Silent Hill franchise, so I thought I’d write a little something inspired by tracks like ‘Eternal Rest’ and ‘Alone In The Town’. Please feel free to share any feedback and thanks for checking out the track!

Has anyone else ever visited Dark Park?

Dark Park - An ever-nocturnal, multi-acre metropolitan parkland shrouded in perpetuity by the veil of night. The warm, amber glow of incandescent Victorian-style streetlights embraces the lonely benches, vibrant flowerbeds, and emerald-green lawns of the park with a quaint and cozy radiance. A teeming array of autumnal maple, elm, and oak trees inhabits the expansive interior of the park; their contorted, skeletal limbs extend outwards, as though reaching to grasp at the wind while it gently carries the dead foliage out of their canopies. The spectral presence of pale moonlight dances across the surface of a large, midnight-blue lake, which sits like a jewel atop a crown at the heart of the parklands. A seemingly endless, arterial network of cobblestone pavements and decomposed granite footpaths weave around one another, intertwining into a labyrinthine web of potential futures. Where do they lead? Which of these paths will guide you home, and which paths will lead you right back here, to where it all began?

I finally got around to playing through all of the Team Silent titles as well as Origins and Shattered Memories. Should I bother playing Homecoming and Downpour? If not, what other games have you come across which scratch that classic Silent Hill itch for you?

Got my copy of God’s Country signed by Mr Manhole during their Melbourne show the other night!

It was a fantastic show! Luther was such a down-to-earth and chill dude. I had the chance to briefly chat with him about their recent visit to Japan and some of the sights which they were able to see on their downtime while they were over there. Can’t wait to see the boys when they come down here again!

An old Silent Hill: Origins ad I found in a comic book I bought as a kid back in ‘07

I was playing Origins for the first time recently, and I recalled an ad that I came across as a kid in one of my old comic books which I bought circa 2007.

This was actually my first introduction to the franchise, and I have vivid memories of looking at the ad as a young kid and being simultaneously fascinated and terrified by the imagery of this game.

Nearly 20 years later, and nothing has truly changed.

Best budget mixer for producing power electronics/death industrial?

Hey all,

I am looking at buying my first budget mixer in the coming weeks so that I can finally get into producing some death industrial/power electronics stuff.

So far, I have been most intrigued by the Yamaha MG10XU. It has USB connectivity for stereo output recording (my current audio interface is a Focusrite Scarlett Solo - so, I don’t really have the ability to route the stereo output from a mixer into my audio interface for recording purposes). It also seems to have a lot of routing options for no-input mixing and a tonne of onboard effects which I can play around with while I work on slowly building up my collection of pedals and other outboard gear.

Does anyone have any experience with this specific mixer or have any suggestions for other mixers at a similar price point that will get me in the ball park?

Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
