Just got my replacement kit and plan on installing it later tonight or tomorrow and have a question for more experienced users
I had starlink for about two weeks and a bad storm fried my router and dish idk how exactly or what happened. I can attach pics in the comments.
I had my dish attached to the house with a metal mount made for the side of a home. I didnt ground it in any way and im not even 100% sure how to ground the dish.
Is that something I should do this time to prevent the issue. Or was it more of a freak accident. This time of year we have thunderstorms very regularly and I want to know if damage like that is common during storms and if I should just take the whole dish down every storm and unplug everything
I also wanna add starlinks customer service has been nothing but amazing to me and I was so worried id have to buy a whole new system just a few weeks after my first one but they went above and beyond to take care of me and it has been a night and day difference since I swapped over from brightspeed
Ive also heard i should turn off the snow melting feature as it helps in some way im not sure what or how to do that?
