Went to this show a few years ago, wonderful to see displays of colourful, perfectly formed fruit and vegetables.
Some of you might recall I bought a new PSE Dominator Duo X 38 EM recently.
Today was my first proper session of sighting in for a completion on Sunday. So this is the first real indication of how the bow (and me!) performs.
These targets are at 50 and 60 yards. Sighting in for the 80 yards comes on Saturday.
The competition is an Albion round - 36 arrows at 80 yards, 36 @ 60 and 36 @ 50 yards, all on a 122 target face. To be competitive, I need an overall average of 8.3, so these scores set me up for success.
Obviously, I need to be consistent, but that’s on me and not the bow. Temperature on Sunday will be 32C, so it’s going to be a sweaty, draining affair.
I’m fortunate enough to enjoy this view from the back door of my house, never to be taken for granted.
Herefordshire
A somewhat rare, but magical sight here in the southern UK (Herefordshire)
I'm sure I'm not alone in this conundrum. I enjoy drinking and experiencing the different flavours of pods, but I have a problem that when they're unpacked into my tower storage pillar, I soon forget what the different pods are, which ones are suited to espresso/lungo/milk/etc.
Is there a design language in the pods that helps me sort out the appropriate coffee for what I want to drink, or do I just have to put the effort into remembering/documenting?
I spent the last few months saving for and putting this together. The bow arrived last week, spent a while setting it up. I get to play with it this afternoon.
For the purposes of quality-of-life (i.e. continuing to actually live), I've hidden the receipts from my wife.
Another one of these Thai archers. Again, great form.
But so good to see the enjoyment they have from this sport, just makes me grin from ear to ear.
This is a pop star from Thailand participating in a celebrity/idol multi-sport event. She hit a bunch of tens during the event.
This is how I act on the inside whenever I get a ten or X.
Hi guys,
I’m after recommendations for a case for a target compound bow.
Ideally suit a bow that’s 38” ATA and has space/storage for:
- arrows
- sights
- 30” front rod and side rods
- spares/tools
No real preference for hard or soft boxes.
I also have an Avalon Tec case for another bow that does everything I need, but I’d like something different for this bow.
Seems like a lot of folk here enjoy a huge range of bow styles, from the traditional/asiatic style right through to the latest compounds.
I just thought it might be nice to hear people’s stories about what brought them to their favourite bow style and what they love about it.
This has kind of always been at the back of my mind There seems to be an almost limitless array of different Nespresso flavours - are they all pure, blended coffee or is there an element of chemical additive at play to give us the impression of flavour?
First drink made with the new Creatista Pro.
Used two Illy Forte capsules and semi-skimmed milk. Produced a lovely hot and textured milk, just the way I like it!
I took a video, but it’s too large to attach here (I wanted to show the temperature of the milk), so here’s a link to the YouTube I uploaded.
After our old Creatista died a month or so back, we decided to give bean-to-cup a go and bought a Gaggia with a milk frother attachment.
The coffee was nice, but the milk component was awful - just would not produce milk of any sort of acceptable texture. After looking around, this seems a common theme with these sorts of machines (unless you pay stupid money), so we’ve gone back to Nespresso and bout a Creatista Pro.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes in the morning.
Does anyone have any good tips for keeping v-bars secure to the riser? It seems as though any fairly innocuous nudge in the lefty-loosey direction causes mayhem in a flappy mess of embarrassment…
I spent a fair amount on this Acxel v bar, put it on the bow and then wanted to adjust the left-right angle of the back bars.
I’ve now found that both sides are completely seized up. I can adjust the up/down but not the side to side, even after taking all of the bolts fully out.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can’t see any other locking nuts I’ve missed. Obviously I’ll be sending this back to the retailer for a refund if there’s no easy way to adjust the bars.
I’m not sure how I fell down the rabbit hole of buying V Bars! The fixed W&W one was something I had from my old recurve days, but with the compound, I felt I needed to move things around more to get a more stable balance.
I have the Axcel on my bow at the moment and the sight pin is pretty damned steady (Shibuya Vanquish Pro bars and a fair bit of weight). The Axcel has a weird double lock system that I’m not sure is entirely needed (almost seems like a solution for a problem that shouldn’t exist). The Ramrods bar is gorgeously stealth bomber in its angles and looks amazing. I’m awaiting the front-facing QD bolt that matches before playing with it.
The Avalon. I’m sure it’s nice, but it feels a bit out of its league here.
