My Wendy's Hot Take is that the "Hot N' Juicy" rebuild in 2011 was a huge step backwards and their burgers have tasted weird ever since.

I hope some of you had the privilege of experiencing pre-2011 Wendy's burgers, before they "changed everything but the ketchup." That is all.

Reminder: You can get a free month of Apple TV to watch tonight's game

Cancel immediately after signing up, and you will still get the free month. Should work even if you've had a free trial before (but not if you're a subscriber already).

If it says you've redeemed the code too many times, have a family member sign up instead. Anyone in the same Family Sharing Group can share the subscription.

If all else fails you can get a 7-day Apple TV trial via Prime Video. This can also be cancelled immediately after sign-up.

Don't pay for Apple TV just to watch one game of baseball.

Oswaldo Cabrera reflects on his injury one year later

“It’s crazy and interesting to look back and see all the time that I lost, but also see all the maturity that covered in my mind in a good way,” Cabrera said. “Trying to see another perspective of baseball, that it can be worse. I was in the bottom worse, when you’re hurt and can’t do anything about it. After that, I’ve come in with the right energy every single day coming to the field.”

Got off to a rough start but is slashing .364/.432/.545 so far in May.

Most pitchers lose velocity as the game goes on. Carlos Rodon is the rare pitcher who starts throwing harder.

Fun insight from today's RABthoughts. On average MLB fastballs are thrown at 94.6 MPH in the first inning and 94.0 MPH in the sixth. Conversely, Rodon last year averaged 93.5 MPH in the first and 94.9 MPH in the sixth (and seventh).

I eagerly await the return of our sweaty king.

It's Irresponsible Lunch Sandwich Friday, and so after seeing this thread about Danny Boy, I decided to give their Italian sub (the "Sponziello") a shot.

In 15 years of living here, this is what I've been missing. No disrespect to Young Buck, J&W, Carl's Deli, Allez, and all the other places making respectable sandwiches, but it's been surprisingly hard to find something specifically like this, with a proper Italian sub/hoagie/grinder/wedge/whatever roll that's soft inside but crusty on the outside. My only nitpicks: Next time I'll ask for more shredduce and either hold or go easy on the aioli, which mostly just distracted from the rest of the sandwich.

Even more exciting is that there are not just one, but two options for this kind of sandwich now. Knuckles Deli is next on the list.
