Free open-source plugin for WINCTRL devices in X-Plane on macOS and Linux
Posting this because the question comes up here regularly. I maintain a WINCTRL plugin, an open-source X-Plane plugin that connects to the hardware directly. It is specifically built for macOS and Linux, where SimAppPro isn't available, but it also runs very smoothly on Windows if you want to try it there.
It supports most common aircraft where it drives buttons, LEDs and FMC displays, including custom fonts that you can even build in a browser editor for airframes whose display style differs.
Devices and aircraft supported: https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/95987-winctrl-plugin-for-x-plane-mac-linux-windows/
Hope this helps anyone, enjoy!
