How to get rid of cockpit reflection?
In Laminar a330 the reflection in windshield is killing me
Soooooooooo happy with my new rig!!
..... with my new rig. From 26-30 frames during landing to 80-130 frames with vegetation set to medium. Happy Camper here!! Now I will finally get to to use my FF777ER, the previous rig could not handle it and kept crashing after about 1,5 hours of flight.
Air Algerie Toliss A339 neo departure DAAG-CYUL
Low budget yoke and throttle recommendation
Hey everyone
I am getting into flight simulation. I have decided to go with X-Plane 12. I like Boeing airliners and Cessnas so I definitely want to fly Boeing airliners and Cessnas in the simulation.
Because I like Boeing airliners and Cessnas I am looking to get a yoke and throttle setup for X-Plane 12. Most of the options I see are pretty expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations for budget flight simulation gear that still offers good quality for flying Boeing airliners and Cessnas?
Thanks in advance for your help
I got tired of guessing where to park, so I made automatic dispatcher to tell me over Hoppie
Do you actually ever know where you're supposed to park?
I fly the leg properly. OFP, CPDLC, the whole ritual. And then I get into the terminal area and just... pick a stand. Something that looks free and roughly the right size. It's the one point in the flight where the illusion falls apart for me every single time.
So I filled that gap. Before arrival you now get a dispatcher telex over Hoppie with your assigned stand, printed out on the ACARS printer like any other company message.
On arrival to VVNB - Toliss A21N
It does the same for departure, so you know which stand you're pushing back from before you even load into simulator, not just where you end up.
The messaging part was the easy bit. The hard part is the data, because real stand allocation isn't random - it depends on the operator, the aircraft size, terminal layout, domestic vs international. So the backend keeps per-airport stand data and picks something plausible for your callsign and type, rather than throwing a random number at you.
One thing that turned out more interesting than I expected: group flights. If several of you fly the same route together, the dispatcher assigns stands for the whole group instead of everyone guessing separately. You pick how you want it - all parked side by side, or spread out the way a real operation would do it, but still kept as close together as it realistically can.
The catch is that there are thousands of airports (I am sourcing this data externally) and I've personally been to a rounding error of them. So it works the same way the X-Plane Scenery Gateway does: if you know your home field like the back of your hand, you can fill in its stand data and everyone else benefits. That's honestly the part I'd most like help with.
Works worldwide and for any airline, and on X-Plane, MSFS 2020/2024 and P3D.
Disclosure: this is part of AnyAirline (anyairline.app), which I develop. If you want to try it, the setup is short - make an account, pick the network you fly on (there's a "none" option if you fly offline or on SayIntentions), have your Hoppie logon set up in the aircraft, and file a proper flight in the FMC. As long as the dispatcher knows where you're going, the telex turns up on its own.
Happy to answer anything about how the allocation works, or about the airport data if you want to fill in a field you know well. 😄
Dear Laminar Devs...
I Love i mean absolutely adore xplane 12, i love the physics the colors that may look bland but it is very realistic, the way the aircraft feels and everything xplane 12 has to offer, might i add the zibo mod i just well wanna fly it all day, however i have 1 minor issue, can you guys please fix or optimize vram usage?? I got a BLOW DRYER of a GPU, (RTX 3050 4GB MOBILE) and running xplane 12 with 0 scenery addons hurts so much to see the textures go from great at high, to literal crap at low because of insufficient vram. I understand that optimizing is really hard and complex, but not all of us have the ability to use the highest graphics settings with all the sceneries loaded and fly at a decent framerate, and it is impossible for me to upgrade my specs considering the cost of a single gpu and 32 gigs of gddr5 costs almost as my kidneys, if these prices are to stay ill become an actual airline pilot before i get to enjoy xplane for all it has to offer. I simply ask that you along with your talented crew optimize xplane 12 just enough so broke kids like me get to enjoy xplane at the best of their systems abilities. Ik, people clown on xplane for textures, but i find the sim to be very good in terms of textures at the high preset, it really looks good but unfortunately my apu of a gpu cannot run high settings for its life.
Sat overnight in San Antonio Lackland after being flown in from Boeing
Thank you Austin, and the Laminar Research team
Coming back from an uphold since FS9, this has been great.. And it keeps getting better, every month, since i started in desember 2025. The future is bright.
When choosing simulator for comeback i laughed when i saw landing comparison between X-Plane and MSFS. It wasn't a question who was the serious one. I think people complaining and demanding on X-Plane and Laminar should switch simulator software, for now. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. It's highly intuitive and modifyable. The flight model is amazing. And getting better??! I love it. I feel a bit pitty for all the critisism the developers are getting. And Toliss... Toliss in X-Plane is the best aircraft i have ever flown on a computer. The Hot Start Challenger 650 also.
Please stop shitposting, and post more of your amazing simulator, guys. Also a big thanks to the indipendent developers of all the amazing freeware that is available..
Looking VERY forward to the years to come, in flightsim.
Happy landings!
How can I make X-Plane 12’s atmosphere and colors look more realistic?
I need an add on or mod that makes the atmosphere more realistic. I don't really like the colors in XP12 either they're kind of too dark. Do you know of any mods that make it look more realistic..The floor looks unrealistic, too?
What are the must add ons for X-plane 12 that I should have?
I understand this may come with lots of opinions which I am grateful to have more perspectives from many but I will list what I currently have.
Autoortho
Simheaven
Air manager for my touchscreens
Currently running 3 monitors 5080 card and 9800x3d (getting 44-55 fps on 3 x ultra wide screens)
I would appreciate if you guys can suggest add ons to enhance the game more visually if possible. I know the simheaven pro just came out so I am not sure if thats a good suggestion but for someone getting into xplane I would appreciate as much input as possible.

Lossless scaling
Looking for a bit of help. My monitor is 1920x1080p - 60GHz.
I have;
- Ryzen 9 9700x
- RX 9070xt 16 GB
- 32GB DDR5 Ram
For some reason, every so often XP will just not run smooth and slightly jolt slowly. I’ve tried settings really low, really high, no change.
I found some videos on lossless scaling; they worked and helped - and I think it’ll help me. My GPU is used a lot less when it’s in a smaller window - however, when I do it, it puts that window to full screen and is rather ‘zoomed’ and blurry - the videos I’ve watched it doesn’t do that.
Anyone able to tell me what settings to choose/ how to get it to work properly for my setup?
A question about airports
Hi everyone, i was wondering if do you guys mostly fly to default airports or do you use payware ones? And do you think default airports are good enough?
Recently hopped back into Xplane just for the Tushka
Been using FS2020 and 2024 for some time now. Been ages since I used Xplane 11. Recently wanted to fly Soviet and decided to redownload Xplane 11 just for the TU-154B2.
Came out of this now wanting Xplane 12 because I forgot how smooth, working and not blurry flight simming can be outside FS2024.
