31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 10 - Peek-A-Boo (MKX)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Noob Saibot's Make a Wish from MK9

Truth be told, I really only thought this one was kind of funny. The visual of watching the loser's head get shoved down into their chest, getting their chest ripped off, and then their blank stare coming from inside their body did always make me laugh when I saw this Fatality. Not the most brutal or creative, but it holds a special place in my heart purely for some fun nostalgia.

Excited to Start Rise of the Tomb Raider!

I finished up Tomb Raider (2013) last year, and honestly, I didn't leave feeling as positive about it as I would have hoped. Still, I have both Rise and Shadow, and I want to see the trilogy through, so I started Rise up for the first time today. Right away, I'm a fan of how the game basically starts with more tomb-y stuff, since that was my favorite part of the last game and something I felt was a little underutilized. I also really liked this little attention to detail where Lara is wringing out her ponytail after getting out of the water.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 9 - Make a Wish (MK9)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Noob Saibot's Evil Chiropracty from MK1

Another Noob Saibot Fatality today, and I always thought this one was an MK9 staple. Getting ripped in half starting at the crotch is gnarly, and I always thought the shot of the loser's face while their body has been completely ripped in half was a good visual. It's also another fun use of a character's powers in a Fatality.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 8 - Evil Chiropracty (MK1)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Cassie's #GirlPower from MK11

While there may be better objective uses of Noob Saibot's powers in a Fatality in the NRS games, I always liked the simplistic brutality of this one. The jaw punch, the legs kick, the arm pull, and then the double head kick. None of it is particularly flashy, but damn if it all doesn't look like it hurts like hell.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 7 - #GirlPower (MK11)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Tremor's Stalag-Might from MKX

I'm a simple person who never mentally grew up past the age of 13. If I see someone get kicked in the junk so hard that half their skeleton pops out, I'm going to laugh. Honestly, the skeleton-popping factor and it being in character with how Cassie fights really do the heavy lifting here, because I think the random gunshots are kind of lame and exist to just pad it out a bit more.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 6 - Stalag-Might (MKX)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Kenshi's Scatterbrained from MK9

I don't know if this Fatality was designed to be intentionally funny or not, and not gonna lie, I thought shoving a rock up the loser's ass as the first part of it was hilarious when Tremor first came out. I also thought the close-up of loser's face and their wiggling arms were a little sillier, and in a game where I didn't love most of the Fatalities, this one ended up standing out to me a little more.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 5 - Scatterbrained (MK9)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was General Shao's Axe-Ident from MK1

Some of the "funny" Fatalities are a bit hit or miss for me, but I like how this one uses the camera/fourth wall for some fun, while also still managing to look painful. It's a good use of Kenshi's powers and weapon, and the loser's eyeball slowly sliding down the screen is a gnarly touch. But with the designs of the women in this game, I feel like this one definitely has some allegations with it lol.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 4 - Axe-Ident (MK1)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Baraka's Food For Thought from MK11

I ended up liking this Fatality because of how simple it was overall. It also reminded me a bit of Kung Lao's Razor's Edge from MK9, which is one of my favorite Fatalities in that game. I think the loser getting slammed down on the axe first adds some extra brutal fun, and I usually like it when a character's weapon gets used in their Fatality.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 3 - Food For Thought (MK11)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Cassie's Selfie from MKX

One thing I liked about this Fatality was seeing the loser's eyes and teeth when Baraka rips their face off. I always thought that it was a pretty cool and brutal visual. I also liked how the loser is basically alive through the whole thing until Baraka pulls their brain out and eats it. The loser's brain wobbling around on Baraka's arm blade would always make me laugh too.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 2 - Selfie (MKX)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Kung Lao's Razor's Edge from MK9.

When I first saw this Fatality, I thought it struck a really good balance between being simple, brutal, and funny. The closeup on the loser's destroyed face, twitching eyes, and blood pouring onto their chest is gnarly. Cassie taking a selfie and uploading it on social media with all of the comments rolling by was a really nice character touch that made it one of my favorites in the game.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 1 - Razor's Edge (MK9)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

I thought Razor's Edge was one of the coolest Fatalities since the initial MK9 trailer dropped! For as simple as it is, getting your junk destroyed by a spinning hat razor has to be one of the most painful Fatalities, and I always thought the loser did a great job selling it when being pulled into it.
