How can I realistically fix Garden Center watering without screwing over management?
I’m currently a team member at Tractor Supply and recently applied for a Team Lead position. I work a lot in Seasonal/the Garden Center, and there’s one problem I’d really like to figure out how to address.
We don’t really have the payroll for someone to be dedicated to the Garden Center and consistently water plants, but from what I understand, we’ve also been told not to set up automatic waterers.
So the result is pretty much what you’d expect. Plants don’t get watered consistently, a lot of them die, and we end up taking thousands of dollars in shrink.
But honestly, the shrink isn’t even the only issue.
I’ve heard multiple customers complain about how bad the Garden Center looks because there are so many dead or dying plants. So we’re not only losing money on inventory, it’s also hurting the customer experience and the overall appearance of the store.
Whether I get the Team Lead position or not, I’d really like to figure out if there’s a realistic way to improve this.
What I absolutely do NOT want to do is go over my Store Manager’s head or screw him over.
He’s a cool dude, I don’t think this situation is his fault, and aside from going behind his back just being a dick move, it wouldn’t do me any favors either. The last thing I want is for a District Manager or somebody higher up to contact him asking, “Why am I hearing about this from one of your team members?”
I’d much rather work with my manager and figure out the proper avenue for bringing up the issue and potentially getting a solution considered.
I’m not trying to complain, point fingers, or get anyone in trouble. I just see a problem that’s costing the store money and negatively affecting customers, and I’d like to figure out if there’s a way to actually help fix it.
Any advice from Team Leads, ASMs, Store Managers, or anyone who’s dealt with the Garden Center side of things would be appreciated.
23, Is It Over?..
Is there ANY possibility to recover from this or am I too far gone?..
You all ready for the Spider-Man nerfs?
New Spidey combo just deleted a Tank right out of spawn in 4 seconds 💀
Base combo (325hp): Initiate team-up -> overhead -> Tracer + Peni bomb -> Ffamestack
Extended combo (400hp): Initiate team-up -> overhead -> Tracer + Peni bomb -> Ffamestack -> Simple Swing -> Overhead
Tank buster combo (800hp): Initiate team-up -> overhead -> Tracer + Peni bomb -> Ffamestack -> Simple Swing -> Jump -> Overhead -> Tracer -> Overhead -> Tracer -> Uppercut
Spider-Man is falling behind, but more damage won’t fix him. Here’s the rework I’d make.
Hey everyone, just for some insight. I've played Spider-Man since launch, and have 1000+ hours on him. Recently with the season 9 changes I’ve been thinking about what I’d change about Spider-Man, and I don’t think he needs a straight damage buff.
The biggest issues to me are his lack of sustain without Peni, how disconnected Wall Crawl feels from the rest of his kit, and how much of his combo potential is locked behind extremely niche tech.
So instead of making his combos hit harder, I’d move power into survivability, mobility, and skill expression.
TL;DR:
- Replace Spider-Sense with the 40 Bonus Health on Spider-Tracer proc from the Peni teamup
- Let Spider-Man actually engage from walls
- Move his Peni Team-Up toward Web-Swing cooldown reduction
- Keep the Web-Bomb as the enhanced Team-Up reward
Here's some patch notes I made:
Spider-Sense
- Removed.
Spider's Resilience — NEW PASSIVE
- Replaces Spider-Sense
- Triggering a Spider-Tracer grants Spider-Man 40 Bonus Health.
- This effect is now part of Spider-Man's base kit rather than being dependent on his enhanced Peni Parker Team-Up.
Wall Crawl
- Spider-Man can now use Web-Cluster while clinging to a wall.
- Spider-Man can now activate the Get Over Here! targeting attack from a wall against enemies affected by a Spider-Tracer.
- Spider-Man can now use Web-Swing directly while clinging to a wall.
- The standard Get Over Here! pull cannot be activated while wall clinging.
Peni Parker Team-Up — Unenhanced
- Removed the 40 Bonus Health on Spider-Tracer activation effect, as this has been moved into Spider-Man's base passive.
- New Effect: Triggering a Spider-Tracer reduces the remaining recharge time of Web-Swing by 1 second.
- This rewards advanced movement, swing usage, and animation-cancel techniques without directly increasing Spider-Man's damage. This should effect both low and high Elo with less skilled Spider-Men getting increased maneuverability and the ability to disengage even when all your swings are on cooldown. While higher skilled Spider-Men will absolutely fall in love with this teamup as it will allow you to expend more swings for animation cancels without fearing of losing your one way of escape.
Peni Parker Team-Up — Enhanced
- Retains all effects of the unenhanced Team-Up.
- Grants Spider-Man access to the existing Web-Bomb.
- Web-Bomb retains its current functionality, including applying a Spider-Tracer.
The goal was basically to make Spider-Man more rewarding and self-sufficient without making his actual burst stronger.
I especially think being unable to use Web-Cluster or tracer Get Over Here! from Wall Crawl makes no sense for a character whose entire identity is supposed to revolve around walls and mobility. Especially when multiple other characters like DareDevil and Venom have had this ability since launch.
Which part of this would you keep, change, or completely throw out? And if you think any of it would be broken at high elo, which part?
Hen started limping a couple days ago and now can barely walk
Got 2 ducks and a goose around 3-4 months ago. Our hen recently started limping around 3-4 days ago and its gotten worse since. Theyre fed dumor 17% all flock, let walk around the yard every day, have access to a swimming pond where they swim every day and an enclosed pen. I looked at the bottom of her feet and saw no injuries or swelling nor on her legs. Ive put poultry booster in their feed todag hoping its just a vitamin deficiency. Open to any suggestions. Might take her to the bet but theres not many around who will take a duck plus its rather expensive. She hasnt layed an egg yet if that matters. Thanks.
Respiratory infection or Drake trying to get call?
Hey everyone,
I could use a second opinion on the sound my 8-week-old duckling is making in the attached video. Up until recently, he was still just chirping and has never actually quacked. Now he's making this raspy sound.
I'm hoping this is just a drake getting his adult voice, but I want to be safe and rule out a respiratory infection.
Some context on their enclosure:
We use the deep-litter method with straw bedding. The underside of the straw did get a bit damp recently. I didn't see any mold, and we’ve already spread the damp straw out in the yard so it is completely dry again.
Because we caught the dampness and aired it out, I’m leaning toward it just being his voice coming in, but I’d love to hear what you guys think. Does this sound like a normal drake voice transition, or should I be worried?
Thanks!
Drake or Dick?
Why is this duck attacking the chickens? They were raised with a goose is that why?
How To Save This Dying Chick?
I work at Tractor Supply. I was cleaning the chicken cages when I noticed 2 chicks and a quail chick all that looked somewhat dead since they were just laying there. So I was going to dispose of them but noticed they were still breathing, I would never dispose of them when they’re alive so I cleaned around them until I finished.
One of the chicks could barely stand, he was standing and super wobbly and like dozing his head forward until it was practically in the ground, or he would just lay there. I asked AI what I should do and it said to seperate them all in a container so they arent trampled, which I did. I was told to put them back under the brooding lamp which I did, I was then told to go get nutri drench in order to get some food into their system as it seemed like it was running on E, which I did. However when I got back it started rolling its head around and randomly jumping/ seizing. Including jumping from sitting to pretty much on its back. I was told that its do or die and to give the chick one drop of nutri drench, I did and it looked like it was responding well because it was swallowing it when i put it on the side of its beak, however it started seizing again and finally died.
Next I wanted to focus on the other two, this one was a Quail chick who hasnt walked around at all or really opened its eyes, but it was still breathing, when I picked it up it would chirp and flail but without opening its eyes really and when I placed him back down he would just like not use his legs and only like shake his head on the ground Im assuming to try and get up or something. Administered all of them a drop of nutridense, bought all the other things like the probiotics and electrolytes, feed, heating pad, etc… i didnt want to get a heat lamp because I heard they were inefficient and bad. I get home after like 15 minutes and place the two chicks under the heater after administering another nutridense which it looked like it was recovering with because it partially opened its eyes. But when I came back a couple minutes later to check on them sadly it had passed and the last was laying with it.
That leads me to this last one. From what I can see it doesnt walk, and its wing seems to be broken at the end, it looks like some clotted blood has attached a flake to it so I cant get a good look however it absolutely has something wrong with it as well. Since the other died and it had noone to pile with I was told an inside out sock would suffice and calm it down some more which I did. I gave it liquid electrolytes mixed with the probiotics, i just held the dropper near its mouth and to my surprise it drank 5-7 drops until wanting to stop. Im now goving it a drop of nutridense every other hour and water in between those.
I have ducks and geese and hens but they were rather simple being as they mostly took care of themselves so I am pretty much in the dark. I know it cant stay alone forever and if I get it walking and stuff again Ill get it a second to be with while growing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
TLDR: 3 chicks were dying, two died while attempting to give care. This is the last one and J would like help/ suggestions on how to support it better in order for it to regain its strength, it seems to have a broken wing and I will wrap it with medical gauze after it gets a bit stronger and I can remove the debris on it. Thanks.
Update: I have cleaned the debris off the chicks wing and thing that it was just poop that had stuck it and some wood flakes to it. I didnt find any blood but the wing is definitely either broken or dislocated as it just sits loose and rotates in the socket freely when the bird is moved. I have wrapped it for nowso it doesnt get its wing in any awkward positions overnight.
Update 2: I went to bed at 1am, gave it its fluids and woke up at 8am sadly to it having passed, thanks everyone for the help.
Is it Snoring? I thought I heard it do it when it was awake too.
Please Tell Me Its Not a Drake :(
Gemini said it was 100% sure it was a drake, the other is still chirping. I was hoping for a full female flock :( What do I do if its a drake? I dont wanna split them up but ive heard drakes are rather ruthless and that now ill have to have atleast 5 females.
As you can see these images all contain the same pattern, its hard to even explain what the pattern even is and on the last image there is like phasing/ shifting of the bushes mid generation that leave like a trail/ ghost image
Hey everyone, I recently cleaned out my chickens nest box and was disgusted by the smell and look. We got our Chickens a year or two ago and my parents didnt know much about chickens to give them a proper chicken pen, we put a 2x4 up for them to roost but its the same height as their nesting box so now they nest and roost in the box. This means that they’re accumulating waste in the box continuously getting it really nasty.
I plan on tearing down the box and rebuilding it to be much lower to the ground. The last image is a mock image to just help envision what Im thinking of doing. I plan on putting a dropping board over the nesting box under the roost. Is that image a much better idea for the pen?
In the meantime ive completely cleaned out their box, layered it with PDZ on the bottom for combatting ammonia, pine shavings, and then a hemp and herb blend and extra pdz on top to help remove insects, soak up liquid and keep it smelling fresh. When i stuck my head in there yesterday before cleaning it, it smelled horrible and i felt terrible about what i was subjecting my chickens to.
Im open to any orher ideas or suggestions. I recently got two ducklings and a gosling so would love to know any tips yall have for waterfowl. Thank you.
