Build help

I'm currently working on a build for my city and I've decided to go with a blue/orange theme since the rest of my builds look more colorful/fantasy like. I know I still need to texture it, but my main question is about the stone brick/dark oak attachment of the build.

It's supposed to appear as if it was renovated and added on later but the original materials were out of stock, no longer sold, etc.

I still want it to look somewhat decent though but I'm not sure how I feel about the dark oak for the most part. Looking for opinions.

Pillager Help

Hi, so I'm making an inn with pillagers as the inn-keepers. For whatever reason I was able to put an angry vex head on one and an angry wolf on the other, but for the 3rd and final of the brothers, I can't seem to put any form of head (was aiming for angry bee). I've tried multiple different pillagers and google says I shouldn't be able to put the heads on at all so I'm kinda stuck. Is it just chance that the other 2 let me? Or do only some pillagers take heads and I just keep getting unlucky?

Ferrumcraft's growing shopping district!

I just wanted to share some builds from some of our amazing community members on the Ferrumcraft server! This is our shopping district, which continues to grow more and more with all kinds of builds. Ranging from pure goofy, to extremely detailed, we have it all here and I think it's truly just so awesome to have a huge diverse group of people come together for something like this. If anyone wants to know the shop owner of any specific build, I can direct you to the right channel if you wish! We have a linktree with all of our members in the r/ferrumcraft community guide!

D&D in Vanilla Minecraft?! Yes please!

Our quest series grows closer and closer! (I don't even know if I'm caught up yet, and I'm running half the thing D:) Here's our current rank up system, enchantments allowed by class and rank, as well as weapon and armor prices.

  • These things are subject to change, these are not final but a solid starting point. If anyone wishes to help make suggestions, please do!
  • Currency is custom models. 10 copper - 1 silver. 10 silver - 1 gold. 5 gold - 1 platinum.
  • Enchantments still need to be broken down by rank as well. Can't have Mr.Bronze defender out here with Protection IV on day one now, can we?
  • Enchantments were decided by physical ability as well. For example, a wizard can "cast fly" and feather fall landing mostly safe. However, they're not super physically gifted. They can't hold their breath for long. (Respiration I is highest they can have and will be considered as if they cast a bubble around their head). They also can't swim all that fast, so Depth Strider I is fitting.
  • Wizard ability boost spells are custom models as well. There will be "spell stations" of sorts, spread out just enough to not ruin the aesthetics, but close enough to be reasonable. These will be redstone item locks. The item will go through the hopper and trigger a sticky piston to remove a block off of a beacon for a time.
  • Yes, I know barbarians can't wear armor without losing their barbarian traits in actual D&D, but we needed a way to boost their "AC" in vanilla minecraft. So they only get the first 2 tiers of armor, but they will be the only class allowed to have thorns. They are also the first class to get their diamond weapon, as well the only class to start off buying potions. Only strength I drinkables tho. That will be considered their "rage".

If you have any recommendations, please comment down below! Also, if you would like to stay up-to-date on this, you can check out my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@theredvetchronicles

If you would like to get to know myself or any of the other Ferrits you can join us at r/Ferrumcraft. Videos will be posted in our application discord (link in community guide) in the #video-and-stream-links channel. Videos are posted as they are uploaded to youtube, so there is no particular order to them. Everyone is making their own content at their own pace. I'm also working on consolidating everyone's links in one spot to make things easier lol

New SMP Episode - Looking for Feedback

As the title says, I'm just looking for a bit of feedback. I've been making YouTube videos for a little over 2 months now. Primarily want feedback on if you would or wouldn't click on my videos based on titles and/or thumbnails, why you would or wouldn't, and what I could do to make them more interesting in your own opinion.

If you decide to watch anything, let me know in the comments if anything is off or I'm doing well on as far as video quality (audio, video, and content).

All feedback is appreciated :)

custom model help

Hi, I'm making some custom models for my SMP and I'm wanting to know if I can change the name of an item to the model I want, and then change the name to something else while still retaining the custom model. The server is Java Edition and is currently on 26.1.

Example:

I want to rename a piece of paper to ability_boost_scroll to get the texture override, but then I want to rename it to Strength or Resistance while still retaining the custom model. Is this possible and how do I make it work

The Cloverdale Inn

New inn I made for my city. It has 31 rooms and space to make a few more if I need to, but it also comes with pests in the floorboards. It's basically a changing room though. It's the equivalent of everyone's Decked Out rooms on the Hermitcraft server. Walls, floors, cielings are all 2 thick so the other Ferrumcraft members can completely customize their rooms in preparation for the mini D&D style quest series I'm making with another member.

Welcome to Cloverdale!

The city of Cloverdale is thriving! With the addition of the Inn, other Ferrit's are now able to renovate their very own 5x5x5 room in preperation for the upcoming quest series! I'm waiting now for Guild Master Michael's words about our next project for the city! Please, don't let it be planting tree's!

Hi, as the title says, I'm trying to find some way to have a rotating stock option.

I'm building a minigame where you can purchase items to use with the custom currency I'm making, however I want to be able to rotate stock. That way for example, one hour you can potentially purchase OP items, while the next hour there's nothing useful.

I know in bedrock edition where I came from you can push full barrels around with pistons (I've used in a blackjack machine before), but that doesn't seem to work in java unless I'm not doing the redstone correctly

As the title says, we are still looking for a few more members to join, although we (mostly me) are hoping to find a few more technical/ more redstone focused players (there's about 2 of us making all the huge farms to supply 20+ people). We're still only about 2 months into our season 1 and finding who is more committed and establishing our permanent members. The server is Java Edition (currently on 1.21.11)

THIS IS NOT A PVP FOCUSED SERVER! This is a server built to be similar to HermitCraft, so more build and community focused. Some harmless pranks from time to time are fine, but no griefing.

You can find the application discord server link in our community guide.

Our only requirements are that you must be 16+ to join.

You must be making content. You can start up your YouTube today and that would be fine. We just ask that you are able to play somewhat actively and be able to put at minimum 1 video out a month. Most of us try to remain family friendlly, PG-13 for the most part.

More specific details will be found in the application discord server, we look forward to meeting you!

So I showcased my adventurer's guild (right) the other day. I just built the apothecary (left) and I never thought I'd use that much purpur ever lmao. But the city is starting to form, I finally have a path started! You can check out the interior in my next episode when it releases, my youtube link is on my profile. I had a good time making it in creative and am happy it came out so nice:)
