Make sure your CRNM matches your passport

The Federal Police insisted on putting my middle name on my CRNM because it's on my birth certificate, but it's not on my passport. I didn't think this would be a problem until I went to DETRAN to convert my Canadian licence to a CNH. Long story short, they refused to go ahead with the process because of the discrepancy.

I'm now at the mercy of the PF appointment system to get a new CRNM. In the meantime, I only have 10 days left of being allowed to drive on a foreign licence.

When you get your CRNM, be sure that the name matches your passport. It'll save you a ton of bureaucratic hell.
