Book 3 (epilogue), 5 and 6 continuity question (Spoilers if you ain't there yet, although actually how aren't you?)

(Obligatory comment on how this is my nth time listening to this incredible series) I'm at book 6 chapter 32 (again) and I finally noticed something new:

>! Okay so Shako is present at the negotiations between Builder, World Phoenix and Reaper, right? Back in book 3's epilogue, when the World Phoenix builds Jason's custom ability, Nirvanic Transfiguration, it's implied that all 3 parties understand the nature of how this ability works. They all ought to, because it's specifically designed a) for Jason to have a gestalt body and fix the Fundamental Realm (for the World Phoenix); b) the Star Phoenix Form, to temporarily cheat death, in exchange for permadeath (for the Reaper); and c) to stabilize unstable dimensional issues. !<

>! Shako must know all three of these *very* pertinent points, because he certainly knew he could only affect the Star Phoenix with transcendent type damage after he slapped Jason into jelly. So why, when I get to chapter 32, does Shako give Chen a dimension collapsing bomb to use in St Etienne? He explicitly tells Chen "this will annihilate everyone and everything inside this astral space," with full conviction. Why the bloody hell is Shako so shocked (never mind enraged) when it goes wrong? I'm fairly certain he knows about the stabilization effect of Nirvanic Transfiguration. !<

Is it because the Builder is a childish, ironically narrow-minded idiot?

Might as well be Stantler based on its stats.

And the fact that it literally dies if you breathe on it.
