Does Menards paint department not tint primer??

Went to Menards to get some Zinsser 123 to prime some old dark paints, and saw some recommendations online saying you can tint the primer a bit darker to cover better for light paint after. I asked the manager if he could tint it and the conversation went like this:

Me: hi is it possible to tint and shake this for me?

Mgr: I know this says tintable but generally we can’t tint these because I can’t guarantee a color and we don’t have the code for it

Me: but you can tint paint? I’m looking to add tint from a Menards swatch (white Saige) and I just want some* color in it that’s darker than the white.

Mgr: repeats same thing then “also I can’t tint this because it’s 2 gallons and I only have settings for a quart, half gallon, gallon, and 5 gallons. It would require more calculations etc if I was going to tint this”

Me: okay. Would it be possible to just double the gallon tint amount for two gallons then?

Mgr, seemingly saying fuck it: sure we can try it!

Background: I used to work at a hardware store and tinting paint or whatever you want is pretty straightforward. Idk if this guy just didn’t want to do it or if Menards generally doesn’t do this. Any others have a similar experience?

I done did it! Michigan, 255k, 6.375%

Conventional MSHDA for the win! Feels good to have my own house, couldn’t stand renting for the same price as mortgage. 3 pizzas pictured, MOD only charged us for 1. Girlfriend is cleaning while I start some repairs, life is good.
