Still not over Tame Impala in 2019

I just got watching this video of them playing Elephant and I cannot believe the production quality. Like to think this was the subheadliner???? I cannot think of a second to last of the night MainStage artist that brought this to Osh since. I’m a giant Tame fan, so a little biased, but genuinely don’t think this is one of those cases of rose tinted glasses. Kevin had already headlined Coachella at this point, so like.. we basically got two headliners that night. It was my first osh ever, and this video reminded me why it was so special 🥲

Friday EDM is so Stacked

I feel like it’s been a long time since Friday’s Coke stage has been this good. We’ve got some massively talented DJs and I’m so happy for this one!

MPH was phenomenal the last two times I’ve seen him and he’s gonna really set the tone for the night. Just nice high energy to get the stage moving.

VTSS has become one of my fav DJs recently. I’ve listened to like 6 of her sets while running and especially when she leans a bit more bouncey/trance, she absolutely cooks. This set will really start bringing the energy and tempo up into the next act!

B3000 - holy shit, this was such a big pick up. Absolutely top tier energy, I’m loving the hard techno/hardstyle thing they’re doing on Fridays and this is really gonna rival Nico from last year’s Friday. Live element makes this even better!

Amelie Lens - The first three acts would be enough, and yet, we’re not even done! Amelie has been absolutely crushing it this year, and she will rip the Coke Stage apart.

Overall we are just so blessed. I truly think in a couple years, we’ll look back on this Friday and it will be similarly impressive to 2022’s Friday with Evan Giia, John Summit, Meduza, Malaa and Chris Lake. Not quite bc of John’s glowup, but relatively same where you’re like ‘damn that had some heat.’

Of course that’s even without mentioning Saturday and Sunday which also brings some great talent! But what do you think??

I’m curious what everyone’s plan is tomorrow! Who are you seein? For me, tomorrow is a pretty heavy Coke stage day, but I’m looking to fill some gaps. Current plan:

4:00 - Open slot (leaning Wolf Alice)
5:30 - MPH - Coke
6:40 - VTSS - Coke
8:10 - Brutalismus - Coke
9:10 - Open Slot (Leaning Geese)

Avengers Moment

Obviously the final lap deserves all the praise it got, but I feel like the second last lap deserved some love too. Watching these four all work together against a giant group chasing them down was pure cinema. Felt like the team up moment in a movie 🥲

I like when Pogi wins like that!

That was the first Pogacar win this tour that felt remotely close and it was amazing to watch. I genuinely was not certain he would win for this first time. Absolutely amazing performance from everyone. What an absolutely just incredible stage!

Underrated Artists

Looking to discover some underrated acts in the undercard! More than anything I like fast and bouncy stuff, also love DnB and House, or just any incredibly unique/talented. I have been to many festivals, so just looking to discover some new acts! Main artists I’m excited to see include Marlon Hof., A Little Sound, Subsonic, Chris Lorenzo, Nico Moreno and similar hard techno/hardstyle acts! Thanks!

DnB

I was feeling kind of bummed out that this lineup didn’t have any ‘huge’ DNB artists like last year with C&S and Sub Focus. Honestly though, we’re looking pretty great. Just discovered A Little Sound and she’s absolutely fantastic. Great blend of more popular stuff and just absolute rippers, also love that she blends in some live vocals. Subsonic, Bou and Kanine are also gonna crush it. Yeah it’s less than last year, but the talent is definitely there. In fairness, considering how quiet Chase and Status was last year, I kind of get why they went for some smaller acts. Just wanted to make an appreciation post!

Mega Metagross….

Do we have a new top tier mega pick? I feel like all the focus right now is on the Staraptor charm gimmick, but damn, going up against mega Metagross has made me realize what a crazy pseudo it is. Dude absolutely no diffed my Staraptor. Clear body is such a good opener before you hit the mega, and its stats are just so well distributed.

The mega feels so much more daunting without the 4x weakness of most mega pseudos + it has so many resistances. Pairing it with trickster screens and light clay brings it up even further. It really feels like the best new Mega so far even despite being nerfed. I’m just still not sure if it’ll stand up to Charizard Gambit and Basc though. What do y’all think?

Is Ultra Europe/Resistance not having any samller events the days after?

I had seen previous years, there was a Resistance event and an Ultra Beach event on the island of Brac. This year, it doesn't seem those are happening. Does anyone know if they are still to be announced?

Telling Me To Run WAY Too Fast?

I just ran PR'd my 10k at 50m45s and signed up for Runna after the race. I am doing a 3 week 'race recovery' plan and it's tell me to do all my easy runs between 5:00-6:00 minute /km pace. The thing is, it's even tell me that in three weeks, my first long run back should be at this pace. Is that not kind of insane? Sure a 6 minute pace is reasonable, but I'd say 5:50/ for an easy slow run would be my absolute fastest. But it's literally suggesting I should maybe run my long runs faster than my fastest ever 10k? Was excited for this app, but it's kind of offputting that it could get something so wrong to start.

Has anyone else faced this issue?
