Hey guys, throughout my entire years of using computers. I've always been windows just because it was convenient. However, as I am going all in on computer engineering as a field, I just don't see the point in continuing with windows anymore. It just has given me too much trouble. All the AI blow air, and I'm just I'm fed up completely. What all do I need to know before switching? I'm planning on making a complete backup of all my files. Just in case the switch isn't as seamless as I'd hope. What else should I prepare for?
Hello and I'm new to all this in terms of keyboards and whatnot so when browsing for a new keyboard after my last one started to wear out I figured it was finally time to get a proper gaming keyboard. For reference I was using a Windows full size keyboard that I'm not sure on as of model but it was thrifted and looked like something you'd see in a school computer lab. After researching for a while I ended up deciding reddragon was the way to go as in grade school I had bought a writers keyboard and my girlfriend actually ended up with a red dragon keyboard that we found when I thrifted mine (actually was a crazy find and am still happy with it to this days as we got it for around 4 bucks and it was a 70% the model I'm not entirely sure of, still the quality was unmatched).
So as I researched the various makes and models I ended up on the galatin pro K719 and before I could aquire it my girlfriend had gotten it for me as a gift. Thanks love, you hate reddit as do I but just in case you know. But anyways after unpacking it the quality was unmatched and true to my belief redragon is the best in class and their prices are unmatched. As I've used it i noticed the keys have a wonderful sound to them and are a lot less likely to get jammed then my old one, they actually haven't once! I'm not sure as to keyboard know how about switches and all that, I study computer engineering but I'm only a first year and just never had the money to get big into pc gaming.
The only critiques I have are not even for the keyboard but the software in that the layout feels a bit wonky in terms of design. Not bad by a long shot just feels more late 2010's web design i think. Then agian I haven't made anything of note so who am I to judge. The only other thing of note is the lack of programable keys, but that isn't really necessary just a plus. Besides my mouse has those so I usally just stick with that.
But overall my verdict is that it's an amazing pick and the knob is a huge plus as being able to quickly change my volume is great especially when still in a dorm. Redragon has always been a favorite of mine so to have such a nice piece for the price it was is amazing. Thanks to everyone behind redragon and if ever end up finishing my indie game or my masters I'll shout out how much yall have helped! Although I'm not sure if yall will see this the respect I have for yall is unmatched as growing up I had always clung to brands like Nintendo for providing an affordable way to get into gaming with the ds and wii. Now that they've pulled a 180 and I've gone full pc I'm happy to have folks like yall are still able to give the opportunity for getting such an amazing product for what equates to around an 8 hour shift in my hometown grocery store. So again from the bottom of my heart thanks and I wish you all well.
