Everyone is different.

I love this subreddit, but I think some of you need to realize that even If we are all HSP, we still can embrace and experience things differently. We are all different.

Whenever someone posts here about something in their life they struggle with, there are always a few people that jump out to say that it isn't about high sensitivity because *they* don't experience it. Not all HSP traits are shared among everyone, but it can still be a common thing many of us experience and want to discuss on here. Additionally, even if something isn't directly HSP related, it doesn't mean we can't discuss it in the context of being a person with HSP.

List of reasons I have seen people have low defenses/dry account this year

Reasons I have seen people have low amount of defenses/dry account this year

  1. You only have 1-2 characters to pick from

Usually people get discouraged from attacking you if you only have 1-2 characters they can pick from, lots of people like going through multiple characters to find the one that speaks to them.

  1. You attack people who have a different oc style to yours.

Obviously you shouldnt expect revenges when attacking, but If for example the people you attack mostly only draws humanoids, but all your ocs are furries/ferals/mechs etc. The chance for revenge is very low.

  1. Your character refrences and/or rules are unclear.

For example the people who only put a traditional non-colored drawing of the oc and writes in the desc "oh she has blue hair" like the person reading wont know what shade of blue? What color are her clothes? Her skin? Eyes?

Sometimes theres only a bustshot, and no clue about what a fullbody of the character looks like.

Or when the character has a LOT of details but the refrence is very messy so you can't really figure out what the details are exactly. You should write them in the desc or draw a bigger version of them on the ref.

Sometimes people's rules are all over the place too, which might make it seem intimidating to attack.

  1. You already have a lot of defenses, so your overall battle ratio is low.

This year it seems like people are targetting more people who have a high attack to defenses ratio which i love, because those people get back for what they've given too🙏 of course this sucks for mass attackers. You could draw a 20 character attack and your attacks would go up by one. But generally i've noticed that my profile was dry for days when I was even 1-2 attacks lower than my defenses, but the second i got to 50-50 or one over that...boom new attack

  1. You only have complicated ocs.

If all your ocs have a lot of key details, complicated hair, clothing... That might turn people away in an event where you only have a limited time to draw. I've noticed a lot of people (but not everyone) prefer the simpler designs a lot of the time. Simpler isnt always better obviously but it easily leads to that character having more attacks. This includes ocs that have accessories people might not be used to drawing, like armor.

Obviously these arent the ONLY reasons but its the most common ones I see :) and sometimes you arent doing anything wrong, just having bad luck. let me know what you think and if you have any experience on what makes you not attack someone even If their battle ratio is high

HSP relationship with food?

I've always been the picky one in my family, even though I don't see myself as super picky. There's just certain seafood and some very few fruits/vegetables I dont like too much. Be it due to texture, weird bits in the food, the aftertaste, or something else.

I've only recently discovered articles talking about the relationship between HSP and food. For example i've always felt the need to take snacks with me while I go out and I thought that had something to do with fast metabolism and with being often hungry. I always get comments from friends for having random snacks in my bag.

Recently I came across an article that shared a view that sensitive people often have unbalanced blood sugar levels and since we experience a lot of stress, it's good to always have a snack with you to help after any overwhelming or just socially tough situations. In general you might have to eat more often than normal people do, and shouldnt push yourself to wait for the normally recommended 3-5 hours break between eating meals, especially If you feel dizzy and tired at work for example.

I want to know your guys' thoughts, or what kind of experiences have you noticed with food compared to the non-HSPs in your life?

Being criticized for feeling sympathy for someone?

Have you guys ever struggled with having people criticize you for feeling sympathy for somebody? Like for example If you feel sorry for a social media manager of a company that only gets hate, or maybe a youtuber whose fans tend to be really annoying. I might have just scrolled too much on twitter, but it happens irl too.

Having people tell me not to feel bad for someone, because it's "their fault" just makes me feel worse both for them and about my own feelings and it just is so unnecessary. Especially If the person in question hasnt actually done anything wrong and is just another person with a job or their own goals.

I've never gotten along with people who turn out to be bad people later. So often I dont actually think anything about them, like no bad gut feelings or anything, we just dont connect despite having mutual friends, and later on I find out they did something horrendeus. Obviously this is a good thing, but it makes me think. Usually those are the people I cant find anything in common with and I just truly can't see their side on things when they talk. Thats why I can't connect with them. I always feel bad when im not able to befriend people, but 80% of the time this happens. Does anyone here have similar experiences? Is it a HSP thing at all?
