Don’t go rummaging through the balloon drawers please

Does anyone else get annoyed when the customers rummage through the balloon drawers? Today i was ringing up a customer and i hear the balloon drawers open up and I see a customer just opening and closing the drawers looking to see what balloons we have. It just annoyed me because in the process they’re making a mess of the drawers and also it’s like. Who said you are allowed to do that? Idk. Im the one at the store responsible for keeping that area neat and organized so maybe that’s why it pisses me off so much.

Saw DND

Me and my friend were thinking about making Saw inspire DND characters. If you guys had to assign a DND class/multiclass to the main characters/apprentices what classes would you assign

Return Policy

Our return policy is weird and unlike one i’ve ever seen at a store before. Or maybe my manager has been doing it wrong this entire time. If you buy something for $1.50 but then when you return it it’a currently priced lower you only get back the lower price? That doesn’t really seem right. Im surprised i’ve never had a customer argue about this before

Does my store manager just have it out to get me?

I have been working for Dollar Tree for about 2 years and some change now. In those 2 years I have not once ever received a write up for having any sort of attitude towards customers or fellow employees.

This all started 2 months ago after a customer claimed I grabbed an item out of their hand forcefully and demanded I be fired. Store manager says the only reason i kept my job was because i have no prior write ups but that this “forcefully grabbing items” is an “ongoing issue”. This smells like bullshit to me because why only now bring it up? Why not tell me sooner? That sounded weird cause theres never been an issue in the past.

I talk to one of the previous store managers one day when i go to cover a shift at their store and they ask them if they ever got any complaints about me and they tell me the complete opposite that customers never once complained and they only ever heard good things.

Today my merch manager comes up to check a bill and starts heading to the back and I say “Hey (manager name) I have a line”. He helps me with the line and when all is done he says that i have an “attitude problem” and is going to be talking to the store manager tomorrow.

Maybe I’m not noticing these things because I’m autistic. But i just find it really weird that everything has been fine for 2 years and now all of a sudden im this problem employee

Why aren’t we getting certain items on truck despite being out for weeks?

My store has been out of Rain Ponchos and super low on certain Jack Links and Extra Gum for weeks maybe even months now. They aren’t discontinued items, so why arent we getting them?

Does the pay increase transfer over if I move somewhere with a lower minimum wage?

Rn i make $16 an hour which is a dollar above starting pay for a cashier where i live. If i transferred to another Dollar Tree in a different state where the starting pay for a cashier is $11 would i make $12 right away or is that something i might have to negotiate when transferring.

Unpaid Meals

On Saturday I worked a 5 hour shift in one store and then two hours later I worked a 6 hour shift at another store. My district manager is saying that since i worked over 10 hours in the whole day that i get put in for two unpaid meals even though one shift i didn’t even work enough hours to get an unpaid meal and thus didn’t even take one. Is this right because I’ve done this so many times in the past and have never had this happen?

CAN THIS STUPID POS SYSTEM ACTUALLY WORK?!

Idk if this happened to anyone else but for an hour today ALL registers would freeze if you tried to put a till in and they wouldn’t unfreeze no matter how many times we rebooted the computer. We were on call with help desk for a majority of that time. Thankfully there was a register in use when the freeze happened or we would’ve had to close the store on account of having no working registers.

Unfortunately today is the 5 year anniversary of Saw Spiral. It grossed 40 million on a 20 million dollar budget. Almost killing the Saw franchise. Not saying anything positive about it. Fuck this movie

Is anyone else having this issue?

The last couple days, maybe a week at this point, there will be times where I’m typing in my id # to open the register drawer and there will be a popup saying “associate not recognized in the system”. I’m not putting my id # in wrong, i’ve made sure of it. After a couple times putting it in it’ll finally open the drawer. Is this just a new glitch in the POS system?

My store manager is mad that people have been showing up slightly late to their shifts and as of last week is now requiring we show up 10 minutes early for our shifts. Now thats not the part that im concerned about. It’s the part where the store manager is also requiring us to do work off the clock (for example count our tills) during those 10 minutes before we clock in.
