Wait, Tessa actually calls J "Jay"?

Wait, Tessa actually calls J "Jay"?

Has anyone noticed this before in episode 5? Tessa calls J "Jay" in the subtitles. Before saying anything, keep in mind that these subtitles are manually put in by Glitch, so these aren't Youtube's automatically generated subtitles.

The interesting thing here is that Tessa only calls her "Jay" once. All the other times the subtitles are simply "J". This is either Tessa giving J a nickname that she sometimes uses, or just a genuine mistake on Glitch's part.

Is there anything that i'm missing? Let me know.

Would J be accepted into Outpost 3? (if she tried of course)

I've had a little discussion about this and it's really intriguing. Would J be accepted into Outpost 3 if she ever decided to redeem herself? I'll give my own take, but i am eager to see what you guys think.

So, my thinking is this. I think she would be accepted. The general worker drone population wouldn't mind another DD living in the outpost.
The ones that have a real chance to push back is N and Uzi but i don't think they would. N doesn't seem like the guy to hold a grudge, and i don't think Uzi would hold one either.
I think V would actually really like J returning as they have mutual respect, maybe even a friendship. Even after episode 8 i don't think their relationship was damaged too much, if at all.

What do y'all think? Let me know.

Tessa and N's relationship seems really one sided

I've realized something in episode 5. In the Manor, we only get one scene where we see N and Tessa talk to each other directly. The scene after N and Cyn enter the gala when Tessa holds N by the head and spins him around. We can clearly tell that Tessa is really fond of N, but... N doesn't seem that eager about it. We can't actually tell what N feels towards Tessa. So, we don't actually get that much evidence that their relationship is that strong. Yeah, Tessa might like N, but we don't get that for N liking Tessa. So we don't really have a basis for anything.

Also, please do consider that any interactions from N with Tessa from episode 6-7 don't really count, since you know... she's Cyn. Yeah i know huge news.

What do y'all think? Is there anything i missed? Let me know.

Wait, V and Lizzy were sharing earbuds? I never noticed that!

I never noticed how wholesome this scene was. Lizzy even leans her head on V's shoulder.

Meet J felt more like confirmation than revelation. I don't think it “fixed” J.

I have seen a lot of videos of people talking about the new special, "Meet J". A lot of people have credited this video as "fixing J", implying that she was broken before. I don't think that's the case and i'll be getting into why.

Here's a small disclaimer before i get into anything:

I’m not trying to bash anyone who shares this opinion. I just want to share a different perspective. You are free to agree or disagree. I'd love to hear what y'all think.

A lot of people saw J as emotionless, uncaring and even a bootlicker before. When the "Meet J" dropped, it was like a eureka moment for some of those people. I couldn't help but say, "What changed?". I think the emotional depth was always there from the day episode 8 dropped. After analyzing the episode you could tell something was going on. With some logical thinking, the story could have been fully realized.

I truly don't think much changed after the special. The emotions that could be inferred were shown. This isn't necessary, but if you really want to look at my understanding of J before the special dropped, you can find it here. It was written and revised 1 month before the special dropped. You'd be surprised at how well it holds up. I'd go as far as saying that the special reinforced it. I've actually had someone call this a headcanon which is now kinda funny in hindsight. Surprisingly, the only thing that this special made me question was my understanding of V instead of J. I won't get into that right now though.

Also don't take this as me not liking the special or anything like that. IT IS PERFECT! I LOVE IT! Hopefully they do more of these in the future. Anyways, what do y'all think? Let me know.

J failed school MISERABLY (this cannot be gravity)

In episode 8, J jumps down a tower and tries to fly, but she falls down and her legs end up puncturing the ice. She blames it on gravity and it has always bothered me on every rewatch.

This is not because of gravity right? The piece of earth they are standing on has fast angular velocity so when J jumps, the surface moves underneath her and she gets lodged in the ice.

I would appreciate it if there are any physics nerds out there that could clarify this.

So how did V find a dress that perfectly fits??

I was rewatching MD and this caught my eye. How does V find a dress that perfectly fits her, considering her interesting... proportions?

Also this question isn't meant to be taken too seriously. Y'all are free to come up with the most creative/batshit insane answers!

also please don't make this weird guys!!! 😭

I don't think there are any plot holes. Show me examples and i'll try my best to answer.

HEY! Hey, hold up before typing anything.

I know the title is bold, but let's keep the discussion civil. I want to see if there are any plot holes that actually hold up. All the ones i have seen so far can be explained in some way. I'll try my best to give my reasoning for the ones you guys will submit. And if i can't, congratulations! You found an actual plot hole (at least a plot hole that i can't explain). Also, if this gets a lot of replies, i might not be able to reply to every single one of them.

You are free to think on these yourself instead of seeing my answer as the de facto one. You are free to say i'm stretching some of these or not. You are free to think anything, really. Let's keep this lighthearted.

Let's see how many plot holes there actually are.

How did V survive her sacrifice? Here's my theory.

This is one of the more popular ambiguities in Murder Drones. Here's my take on it.

As always, a small disclaimer to set the tone:

I'm not claiming this is the only valid explanation. I'm not expecting for you to see this as the one and only truth. You are free to have your own interpretation. This is just my thought process that i wanted to share. I'll give my answer first, then go over the proof i have.

I think the Sentinels (more importantly Sparky), let her live.

In one of Liam's Q&As, he tells us that the Sentinels actively communicate with each other, indicating that they have intelligence.

>Not so much a detail we didn’t include, but I don’t think quite made it to final cut with proper clarity (at least, I don’t think!) - there’s a beat in Ep6 where V is about to shoot the red eyed Sentinel, but it gets called away by another Sentinel. It’s not very clear, but if you look closely, more than just chirping vocally, the Sentinel taps out a little Morse code message to its red eyed buddy using its claw on the doorframe (two taps and a little scrape). It’s not true Morse code (more just their own tap-based language we can’t understand), but I wish I had pushed harder for that detail and included it in more places, because I like to think the humans didn’t program this and the Sentinels developed it on their own as a secret way to communicate more complex thoughts, instructions, and plans among themselves.

I think this is what happened in the fight. Sparky was in some way the leader of the pack. We can see that one of the Sentinels chirps twice at Sparky, but then is presumably called off, which leads it to back off. The two other Sentinels let Sparky have a 1v1 with V as the fourth one cuts power to the elevator. It's only when Sparky is downed that the other two intervene. I think just as they are about to attack, something causes Sparky to call them off.

Why? The Sentinels had been fighting the mindless Disassembly Drones that came occasionally for presumably decades now. All the worker drones Sparky killed hadn't really made it consider anything as it had become a routine. But a factor changed. Its programming got damaged, and when the Disassembly Drone they were fighting now (V) sacrificed herself, Sparky felt something new. I don't know what exactly, but that made something change. It felt something human in a robot. This also explains how she was able to tame Sparky.

Let me know what y'all think or if i missed anything. Day 6 of daily posting thoughtful content.

The Solver Drones dying to sunlight doesn't seem like a plot hole to me.

I've seen a lot of people ask "So why do the solver drones die from sunlight but are able to survive falling from orbit?" and write it off as a plot hole. I think i've got an answer for why that's the case.

Before i say anything, small disclaimer:

This is my interpretation. You might not buy it, or you might even have a different explanation, and that's okay. I'm only asking for a "Yeah, i could see that happening". I'm not claiming that this is the only possible solution. The "Solver Drones" include all the drones that use the absolute solver in any way. Also i'll shorten Disassembly drones to DD from now on.

I'll give my answer first, then go over the proof i have.

I think burning at contact with sunlight is a general weakness/drawback of the solver. I think once a user is infected with the solver, sunlight becomes deadly to them. I don't think the sunlight's heat is the thing that makes them burn.

At the end of episode 4, we can see that when Uzi and N's hands get exposed to sunlight, they not only end up burning, but their hands start glitching out too. It looks less like normal overheating and more like the rules of reality break down as the solver comes into contact with it.

A lot of people mention how the DD's are really inefficient and how they tend to overheat if they don't drink oil. I don't think the sunlight would push them over into overheating. A common interpretation in the fandom is that their body temperatures are extremely high. We know that the sunlight isn't too hot since the planet is literally covered in snow, and since it doesn't affect worker drones.

We can also see that they survive under extreme conditions really well. N and Uzi survived descending from orbit while burning up. That's why I don't think normal sunlight heat is the cause.

This also covers why Uzi burns too. She isn't a DD, so she isn't as inefficient as them. If the heat did matter, she wouldn't burn too. The heat wouldn't affect her the same way as it does with DD's. I don't think the inefficiency matters here.

So the Disassembly Drones can just float?

The disassembly drones can just float without swinging their wings. V could even decelerate while falling out of the canoe. My guess on how they do this is the same logic as what Doll did with manipulating the gravity during the prom flight. They probably have an automatic system that uses the solver to cancel out the effect of gravity or even push back when they need it. Their wings allow them to have better air control but they aren't specifically needed for flight.

I spent 40 hours on a theory of V and J!

After spending months trying to piece together the lore of Murder Drones, i was never able to truly understand V. But after every rewatch, a picture of her started to form in my mind. After understanding the story on a deeper level, i decided to think on her more. I found that V and J had some surprising parallels. So, my theory was born:

V and J; Two sides of the same coin: The one who overcame and the one who couldn't

The theory goes over the past and present of V and J. It offers a unique perspective on their past and their decisions in Episodes 6-8. It goes over their trauma and their hope. After explaining both their perspectives, it shows the parallels between them.

The one who broke free, and the one who couldn't.

It should take 20-30 minutes to read. If that sparked some interest, here's the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FRtvVQ3JGE01xRZZciRSFUDa14RZV8aKd6rURKlIOHA/edit?usp=sharing
