What are the odds of being upgraded from A4 (4.25 LPA) to A5 (7.5 LPA), even before joining? Opinions and thoughts are highly appreciated.

Basically, I was selected at Capgemini through campus placements. In November 2025, I received my LOI on Superset. In that, it was mentioned that I have been selected for the A4 role, at 4.25 LPA.

Since my college has a MoU with the company, our training started in December 2025, at my college premises only. They were training us for Java Full Stack (Java Spring Boot + React JS).

During the training, it was proposed to us, as a plan, that those who will complete the training and the later evaluations (M1 + L1 + Sprint Evaluation), with good performance throughout, will be subjected to package upgradation before joining the company as a full-time employee.

The training lasted for 5.5 months (Mid December 2025 to End of May 2026). And throughout the training I performed well and was among the set of fast learner students. But, even after completing every test and evaluations in first attempt and with positive feedback, it was never disclosed to me that whether I will be subjected to any sort of upgradation (from A4 4.25 LPA to either 5.75 LPA or 7.5 LPA) or not.

Now, on 2nd July 2026, all of my batchmates, including myself, received our joining date of 27th July 2026. It was mentioned in the mail that we have to submit our documents for initial background verification, before July 5 EOD.

I am also having an offer from TCS @ Digital (7LPA), and comparing that to A4 (4.25 LPA), I was sure that I will not join Capgemini. Today, I received a call from the same person who sent us the mail regarding document submission, and she asked me why I haven't uploaded my docs till now. I told her that I am unsure about it because there has been no communication done with regards to package upgradation, upwards of A4, at all. So, she told me that according to her database, I am supposed to be joining at A5 and at 7.5 LPA only. I asked that why it has not been mentioned in any of the mail that has been sent to me, so she said that it is a confidential piece of information and it will be only disclosed once all the pre-joining formalities have been completed.

Now I am so confused about shall I trust a commitment made over a phone call and no actual written proof for the same or just leave the offer as it is and wait for my joining from TCS.

Although I did not mention to her about my other offers and have also uploaded the initial set of documents (mainly undertakings), but I am still very confused.

Kindly share your views and opinions.
