Burnout at Work

So about three months ago, my store manager stepped down from her position and since then work has been a nightmare.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't enjoy working there before but, I feel like the overall work environment has suffered. Since she stepped down, I feel like our standards have taken a substantial plummet. Products are placed in multiple spots, products are just not going out because no one knows how to stock and they aren't being made to! Management is substantially weaker, our new store manager fears confrontation!

I don't think a store needs a manager who's all up in their employees' faces- don't get me wrong- but they need to be able to comfortably do some basic things. Like.. I don't know, tell their employees what to do. Get on them when they're doing something wrong. Our new store manager has been hiring a bunch of people she knows personally and I swear they just walk all over her, they do whatever they want. They're super rude too- oh yeah customer service standards are way down too. I don't know man, it pains me to work hard and then see shitheads come in and muck it up.

I don't even know why I'm writing this, I have a promising job interview at the college I go to coming up tomorrow. If all goes well, I'm handing in my two weeks' notice tomorrow. I'll get out of this shitty career and can finally feel a sense of peace when I get home in the evenings.

I guess I just wanted to vent. Wish me luck at the interview, good luck in each and everyone of your jobs! Wishing you all the best!

I Guess I'm Rude, Sorry Guys

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been more active on the subreddit- life you know? Anyways, I think I just had one of the worst closing shifts I've had in a while, and I just have to get it off my chest.

So it was time to get ready to close the store, around 7:00 (a solid two hours before we actually close). All things considered, I had a pretty good day. Then this couple who I swear has it out for me- they call me names, they're always asking weird personal questions, it feels more like an interrogation then a chat while I'm checking them out.

I survive that, and start bring our outside displays inside when I notice this guy at the checkout. Already he's kind of aggressive, asking shit like "oh you don't look happy" and instead of putting his stuff on the counter he's holding it and throwing it at my hand. In retrospect, I think he was drunk. He was doing shit like that, his eyes were kind of bloodshot, and he was talking kind of funny.

Anyways, this guy gets cash-back (no he didn't ask if I had it in my register) and he asks if I can give it to him in $10s- after I close my register. Well 1) I can't open my register without a manager, and 2) I don't even have $10s. So I just handed him the $50, said I'm sorry and he yelled at me "WHAT? YOU DON'T HAVE $10s?!" He asks who I'm working with, I tell him she's in the back- I guess he complained about her to me, but thankfully my manager had my back. Although I guess he's coming into the store tomorrow to talk to the store manager, so we'll see what that leads to. I was still grabbing stuff from outside when he finally left, he stopped to tell me he thought I was rude (I honestly thought he was just giving me a hard time, like joking with me) so I just smiled and told him to have a good one.

TLDR: I couldn't break a $50 because I couldn't summon $10 into my drawer, I'm sorry, I'm working on it. Also, I hate my job. Thank you for your time.
