Heavy patina on a no. 8

Work/gardening knife for around 4 years, just got the clip last month. I like it, a little finicky and expensive but it's not bad. You can see where I tried to put my own clip on it and failed. May try again one day

Had these for a little over a year, worn pretty regularly. 2 cold soaks before this and they didn't stink, but didn't feel like waiting longer to wash.

It's hard to capture the actual color of these jeans, especially with the overcast lighting in the before pictures. They started off very deep black (brown/blue) and over time turned a duller black with kinda dull blue peeking through, and the fabric was shiny with dirt n stuff.

After washing, the blues are a lot more striking! Unfortunately the deep black has gone even more, but the color is still plenty rich and darker than normal indigo. Also, the stitching in a lot of places is turning white, from the overdye leaving the thread, pretty cool.

The patch is from Ralph Lauren, I've had it for a long time and wanted to put it on something special. No dye transfer thankfully. I just dropped them off to be hemmed, the Japanese cuff is cool but not all the time. Gonna try to keep washing to a minimum to preserve the great color!

Hello! I am like a lot of people here, trying to remove my reliance on streaming services, going through the process of aggregating all my physical music and digital files into one library.

I have quite a few CD's. I've been trying to learn how to get high quality rips, a topic I know has been discussed here ad nauseum. I've tried a lot in the last month to get EAC and other programs to work, but I'm running into weird issues.

Firstly I can't seem to get AccurateRip to work no matter what disc I try. Each time it says the key disc doesn't match the AccurateRip database, or the drive is not in the database. When I go to rip a CD with what I know to be the correct read offset (without accuraterip), it still doesn't work. EAC will spit out tons of errors and takes about 3 hours just for track 1. The resulting file is full of buzzy clicky sounds, unlistenable. Switched to foobar2000 thinking I was just too stupid to figure out EAC, but resulting files still have the same issue.

My only thought is that my CD drive is worn out/broken. Its an internal drive I bought new in 2014, and it's been able to read my discs fine until now. When I listen to the disc itself, the buzzing clicking is not nearly as present, and many times not present. So that brings me to this:

Should I get a new drive? I think I'd like to replace this one with another internal SATA drive, but I've become stuck in a prison of indecision, my chains forged by reddit posts and audiophile forums. Conflicting information about internal vs external, Drive quality mattering, external power supplies, etc. I don't want to break the bank, and all the internal drives I see being recommended are blu ray players that cost more than $100.

Does anyone have any insights?
