Are Doctors glorified/over glorified.? Do Doctors like to be over glorified,?
Starting with a disclaimer, I am not trying to rage-bait doctors here. (My partner, my closest uncles, cousins, and a few of my friends are all doctors)
So, I live in the Middle East, and I remember the first time I picked a very close person in my life (who is a doctor) from the airport and while driving home they asked " Ivide cars il onum aarum Doctor de Logo ottikille enu?" .. I honestly laughed out loud, coz naalithu vare ivide jeevichu eniku aa oru chintha vanitilla.
But when I am surrounded by Doctors almost all the time, I notice that nammal Malayalees and Indians, Doctors ne oru higher pedestal vechu kaanunne pole, like nammal meet cheyumbo we will tell , "ah, iyaal doctor aanu tto" or I often see people adding "Dr. ABC" to a list of names which might be even a general meetup or so.. like.. does being a Doctor really matter to them a lot ? or is it nammade society conditioning them that they are actually feeling so?
Because I meet a lot of people from non asian countries and it is after several meetings they would say they are a doctor, or only after asking what exactly they do for work, they will reveal they're a Doctor.
So, have you noticed anything of that sort ever? even with other professions? Let's keep the discussion civil and peaceful.
