Psych meds/Adderal in boston
I'm experiencing an american health care classic -- I have an adderal prescription. I had insurance 1 through my grad program, and was going to a psychiatrist for medication management once a month. It was a $40 co-pay, $16 for the adderal, and I was on my merry way.
Partner switched jobs, now I'm on insurance 2. all of a sudden, my same medication management plan is $250 for the medication management, and $65 for the adderal. This is annoying because i specifically spoke with insurance reps who told me this wouldn't happen, it would be covered, etc. I've never had an issue like this before, so I'm not really sure how to navigate it.
Question is: What do I do now? I know friends in other states get their adderal prescribed through their PCP, and don't have to do much in the way of monthly management. Is there a cheaper alternative? Does massachusetts mandate monthly med management? am I just fucked until i get off this insurance? where can I get information on the best way to navigate this?
