Truly, Madly Deeply--just saw it.

How have I never seen this film before? What a thoughtful, uplifting and sweet experience. I'm feeling very jaded with modern movies, and I couple of nights ago I run across this oldie.

I've seen Alan Rickman in a few things and he was on my radar somewhat. That voice! But he wasn't even using That Voice in this movie and he still hits it out of the park.

Sharpen your pitchforks---Amanda isn't being sweet and deferential.

Holy crap could we just focus on people who are really at fault or do we have to jab at every tangential person and group? Take names and kick butt all you want but leave innocent people out of it. So many people casting the first stone.

Some of the youtube vids are just inflaming irrational anger.

Workers who get lost in my house because they won't follow me.

Ok, I have to ask if this has happened to anyone else. I've had three workers over to my house in the past few months and had to, at different times, take them through my house to get to the backyard. My house layout is a little complex and twice (once today) the man I was leading through my house to the back door decided to take what he thought was a better way to get there. He was right behind me when we started out; I'm not walking fast. Of course they are now confused, and a little lost, and I'm wondering what would cause someone who has never been in my house to believe they knew a more efficient way to get where I'm taking them? Seriously. The first time it happened the worker pointed to a door that wasn't the right way and said how about this way? What??!

Why we shouldn't need Reckless Ben

Our court system puts the little guy in an impossible situation. The Lego situation must replay itself over and over in differing guises. As someone mentioned: the process becomes the punishment. If outrageous stunts are the only things that get justice for someone of lesser resources our court system needs to be revamped. And people who become "stunt men" are owed a thank you for shining a light on the situation. Stunts are better than violence.

Edit to Add: Take a look at this. I don't know what to make of it. Side note: A different guy named Ammon. More Lego skullduggery.

The church now allows women to possibly have authority while in the workplace. How about at home or in the church? Leaders aren't desperate enough for that.

Very interesting 180 the church is doing on women working outside the home. Go for it ladies! Just be sure to bow your head and say yes at the appropriate moments when not at work. Rebecca Biblioteca covers what seems to be a soft roll out of a concept that was vilified in my years growing up.

Of course this "turn around" with no acknowledgment that this is a huge contradition is Nothing compared to the Manifesto suddenly performing a 180 on thousands of not necessarily happily compliant Mormon women who participated in polygamy. No more polygamy? they must have said (quietly and humbly). Then what the heckety heck did I do this for???

But they're dead so their pain doesn't matter.
