IT’S STILL AUGUST FFS: a U.S. grocery store rant

So WHY are there Halloween and even THANKSGIVING THEMED cookies in the grocery bakery? Why have pumpkin spice coffee creams been put out? Better yet, peppermint mocha!? Why, when I walk to the back of the store, do I pass by center aisles stocked with Halloween candy? I know. I know. Call me a grinch about it. I don’t care. These holidays used to be special and contained and anchored to a specific time of year and NOW THEY ENCROACH ON SUMMER!!!! I live in the northern U.S., bordering Canada. It’s fucking cold here half the year. Summer is a reprieve. A reminder that winter ends. And I LOVE the fall colors and all the autumnal foods. BUT ALL THESE PUMPKINS ARE STILL GROWING WITH - guess what - THE HELP OF THE FUCKING SUMMER SUN!!!!!!! I couldn’t even type “fucking”. It took me 8 tries. That’s how livid I am. I know there are solutions. I personally choose to shop at a different grocery store during the holiday season. I just.. I just so wish that the stores would slow down 😢😞 life moves fast enough.

EDIT: I could vent about so many issues. Real ones. But I’m here venting about this instead. Join me if you want! No hate if you love the shift in availability of products. Do you and enjoy it. Also, I do actually know “why”.

Calorie deficit suggestions

I’m 5’2” on a good day, 34y/o.

A little background: weighed 118-120 my whole adult life and always lost weight easily. Athletic most of my teen and adult life. I got pregnant at 29, got up to 160, then 135 after. Started working out 1yr post partum with a trainer 1x weekly weight lifting, cardio the other days, BOOM back down to 123. Continued this exercise regime until I was 7mo pregnant with my second baby at age 33. Got up to 180, then down to 160 after.

8mo post partum now, just stopped breast feeding, I’ve been back with the trainer for four weeks, like before, AND I HAVE GAINED 10lbs!!!!! This has never happened to me. I don’t understand what’s different this time.

I want to try a calorie deficit but I have a history of ED/orthorexia and everything in me fears calorie tracking because it feels too close to ED habits. Orthorexia looked like a LOT of restriction and food fear. It was only once I was pregnant the first time that the ED broke its hold because I had no choice but to eat what sounded good. Can anyone give me suggestions on what they’ve done that’s worked? Any other feedback is also welcome.
