So for some context I'm ethnically Portuguese, born and currently living in North America, and I carry Portuguese citizenship due to my family but I don't speak any Portuguese. In the future I might want to move to Portugal and live with my family there so it's important to me that I learn to speak it.

I don't see my family often so this leaves me having to study Portuguese all on my own and I'm very confused about where to start. I'm willing to put in the time and effort but if anyone has any advice/resources that are good or anki decks and could please help me out that would be great :)

Thinking about taking it as a Biochem student - I need an elective and I've heard good things about this course but I'm wondering if it is classified as bird or requires effort?

I've heard these are all bird but can anyone who has taken them actually speak on them? Is scicomm easier or harder than 2x03? Thanks in advance!

Is it worth it to email profs right now for research opportunities in the fall? Or since it's summer would they be less likely to respond. There is this lab that I found at my school that does really interesting research and take on undergrad students according to their website. Would it be worth it to email now or wait until fall starts up again?

I've also noticed that some people are saying this year's average is a 94. While I can't confirm this, the source seems to be from a person from May at mac which I will say they are sometimes unreliable (from experience). While it is possible, I find it unlikely that the average went from a 92.8 last year to a 94+.

Anywho, congrats to those who recieved offers, and best of luck to those who have yet to receive offers :)
