NCP threatens ICE

Odd legal limbo. Obviously, immigration violations are technically a crime, but it seems to me threatening to deport the custodial parent is not in the children's best interests.

But complaining about those threats may jeopardize the immigrant parent.

How are other attorneys dancing on this pinhead?

I imagine the official # will increase, but it seemed like there were a lot more than 5 'naders last night.

Which does your state prefer? Reading some Disiplinary rulings from last week...

Lawyer A: had after hour meetings with divorce client, sent spicy chats, admitted to kissing her. ALSO, had romance with another domestic client seeking a TPR. Client married (to someone different from the TPR baby-daddy). Lawyer admits to spending the night with her and other spicy details. Client's husband was not happy.

Lawyer B: Became drunk & unruly at a bar. Was thrown out. She fought. Cops were called. She resisted arrest and kneed a cop in the groin. Entered a diversion program and record was expunged.

Neither had priors or other complaints. Both sought and completed substance abuse rehab prior to discipline.

One received a reprimand... one a 6mo suspension.

Guess the sanction!
