Hi everyone, I am 18 with ADHD and OCD. I started working at a dog kennel a couple of weeks ago. The environment is hyper-strict. I have already had two verbal warnings about following instructions and staying on task, plus a written warning for checking my phone once and because a manager told me to use two hands on a scrub brush, and 10 minutes later my ADHD working memory slipped and I used one hand again. Honestly, as long as the kennels get clean, why does it matter? Now a veteran coworker is watching my every move. On a recent shift, a huge dog was pulling me, so I raised my voice to get control, and she told me to stop yelling at the dog even though I was trying to gain control of it so there weren’t any safety hazards. Later, when I was cleaning some kennels, I asked a coworker to step off a hose, and the veteran coworker misheard me over the loud barking dogs, got mad, and is probably telling the manager. I'm terrified I'm going to get fired on Friday. Is this environment toxic?"
