A peek into the ole toy room

Forgive the image quality. I found some photos from my old toy room setup circa early 2022. I’ve moved since then and don’t have the space in my current place, so sadly most of my collection is in storage now!

Overhead clearance

Oddly specific questions for yall! I’m planning to take a business class trip on Lincoln Service. I’m about 5’11” and hoping I’ll be able to stand straight up to get in/out of my seat without bending. I have back problems and it’s sometimes difficult for me to get into airline seats when I fly regionally because there’s very little clearance between the seat and overhead bins. I figured that might not to be the case on Amtrak.

So here are the questions:

  1. Is the attached photo still an accurate representation of what LS business class looks like?

  2. Is there enough overhead clearance that I should be able to stand straight up from my seat? Looks to me like there is in the photo, but just want to confirm.

S2E14: did any version of the show ever use the original Oasis track?

Hey folks, I’m rewatching the OC and just finished season 2 episode 14. I remember watching this episode on streaming about four years ago and I loved the use of Champagne Supernova by Oasis. Trouble is…I could’ve sworn they used the actual original track from Oasis rather than the Matt Pond PA cover. No shade to Matt Pond, but the cover just doesn’t have the same emotional impact for me. By contrast, I remember enjoying the song choice so much a few years ago that I got on a bit of an Oasis kick and added the song (which I hadn’t heard in a long time) to my Spotify playlist.

Does anyone else remember this? Is there a known version of the episode that used Oasis instead of Matt Pond? Or am I just completely misremembering?

Viceroy Chicago experiences

Hey all, my friend and I are traveling to Chicago soon. We're planning to stay at the Viceroy for a couple nights. l've got a couple questions for those who've stayed there:

  1. In your experience, is it worth it to upgrade from a Superior King to a Deluxe King? One is listed at 337sqft, the other 395sqft. It’s unclear to me where the extra square footage comes from. They’re using the same photos for both rooms.

  2. This may be oddly specific, but does anyone know whether the room TV’s HDMI port or inputs are locked or easily accessible? I’d like to bring a PS4 to do a little gaming, but it’s a hassle getting the TV to cooperate at some hotels.

Vegetarian-friendly options near Chicago Athletic Association

Hey folks! Out of town visitor here planning a date night. I’m looking for your favorite vegetarian-friendly restaurants near the Chicago Athletic Association hotel (ideally walkable or within a 10-minute uber ride). I’d prefer more casual dining places that have both vegetarian and non-veg options. I’m open to all cuisines, but American, Italian, Mediterranean, and Mexican are my favorites. Bonus points for cozy vibes!

Edit: I’d also be open to suggestions near Nobu hotel. I’m looking at both hotels for my stay, but leaning CAA.

Business class and space to walk/stand on Lincoln Service

Hey folks, I'll be taking the 302 Lincoln Service from Springfield, IL to Chicago, IL next month. This is my first time riding this route and I have a few questions. I have back problems and it can become painful for me to sit for extended periods. Extra legroom, better seats, and space to stretch my legs are therefore pretty valuable to me. Here's what I'm wondering:

  1. How's business class (versus coach) on LS? Are the seats actually better/more spacious? I've read some very mixed opinions about Amtrak business class and heard that it really varies by route/train.
  2. Is it normal/common to frequently get up and walk around the train while it's moving? Are there any good spaces where I could stand for awhile without hovering over other passengers?

Desk assembly help recommendations

I have some back issues and could use help assembling a standing desk. Can anyone recommend a good handyman in town? I took a look at Reliable Handyman, but I need someone who can do either an evening or weekend.
