A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….

Thousands of years before The Great Sith War and Mandalorian Wars of the Old Republic birthed the Sith Empire, before The Clone Wars and the Fall of the Jedi Order with the Rise of the Galactic Empire, before the rebirth of the New Republic and re-establishment of the Jedi Order, another polity ruled the galaxy: The Pius Dea.

The Pius Dea was a fanatical humanocentric religion that usurped control of the Galactic Republic through the impeachment and assassination of the incumbent Supreme Chancellor. A man known as Contispex I would become Supreme Chancellor and establish a hereditary dynasty over the Pius Dea that would rule the galaxy for just over a thousand years.

Their millenia-long reign was characterised by a series of over thirty brutal campaigns against numerous alien species, particularly on those within the Outer Rim and so-called “alien sympathisers”, known as the “Pius Dea Crusades, believing they had a divine mandate to impose order on the chaos of the galaxy in the name of their monotheistic deity “The Goddess” through either subjugation or, if regarded as "unredeemable", extermination. With their great Cathedral Ships and sect of loyal fallen Jedi, “The Order of the Terrible Glare”, the Pius Dea brought death to many worlds through their genocidal crusades.

The rule of the Pius Dea and the Contispex dynasty would not last forever, however. Eventually, a heretical sect, the “Renunciates”, would join forces in an anti-Pius Dea coalition with the Jedi Order and defectors from the Republic Navy, where they were eventually defeated during the Seventh Alsakan Conflict at the Battle of Uquine. 

During the battle, however, many vessels in the Pius Dea fleet had their navicomputers sabotaged, scattering much of the fleet to the stellar winds when they retreated through hyperspace, trapping what remained of these Cathedral ships in the depths of unexplored space.

Recently, rumours had circulated amongst the spacers and fringers on the borders of Galactic Alliance space about trouble brewing in the Unknown Regions. While unsubstantiated, some say it's the Chiss Ascendancy attempting to expand its territory or perhaps even the Yuuzhan Vong plotting to conquer the galaxy once again. Most dismiss these rumours out of hand, as the Chiss were far too small to pose a serious threat to any of the major galactic powers, and the Yuuzhan Vong had made amends for their previous invasion, terraforming and restoring the worlds they had previously devastated during the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Yet others report sightings of a fleet of gargantuan Cathedral Ships raiding, conquering, and enslaving all they come across. One old spacer, so filled with Tarisian Ale he could barely stand, even swore on his life that he saw the name of the biggest ship in this fleet while on a salvaging expedition… “The Flame of Sinthara”.

So, I’m a HUGE fan of Star Wars, have been for basically all my life, but recently I learned about a piece of lore that I’ve become a little bit obsessed with: The Pius Dea. Mainly because it reminds me of another fictional setting I’m a big fan of (albeit not as much as Star Wars): Warhammer 40k! The Pius Dea really reminds me of the Imperium of Man from 40k, and that got me thinking that it might be fun to do a more grimdark-style Star Wars roleplay where the xenophobic, humanocentric cult of the Pius Dea returns to the galactic stage after 10,000 years in exile during the Legacy Era!

My partner should ideally meet most of these criteria:

• Creative and able to keep the story flowing.
• Down to talk and get to know each other OOC; I like making new friends.
• 18+ only!
• Is mostly literate and can do at least a single paragraph. Is a massive nerd (you get extra points if you've read all of the LOTR books or can quote the Sith Code)!

So, I have a few ideas for a few RPs that I've wanted to do for ages, one inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop roleplaying game and another inspired by the classic pulp sci-fi, specifically Buck Rogers and the Barsoom/John Carter of Mars series. I was thinking that we could add in some elements of the Barsoom series to my Buck Rogers plot, since they'd fit together quite well!

However, I'm also open to any ideas you guys have for plots or things you may want to add!

=]DnD Plot[=

So, Drow are my favourite DnD race, and for the longest time, I've been craving a plot that focuses on the Drow of the Underdark, like The Dark Elf Trilogy books from the Forgotten Realms DnD setting, which are a big inspiration for this plot.

Now, while I have a few ideas for what the plot will focus on, like being Drow-focused and involving our characters adventuring around the Underdark and running into other Underdark-dwelling civilisations like Mind Flayers (especially Mind Flayers, I LOVE 'em), I like to leave my plots more open and fluid to allow for any ideas my partner may have.

My idea is that our characters would discover a cult formed from the remnants of an ancient civilisation, trying to summon an eldritch abomination to help them conquer the surface world.

=]Pulp Sci-fi Plot[=

In this roleplay, Buck is originally a young man from the mid-21st century (specifically the 2060s) hired by HuerTech, a space technology company, and underwent training to become a NASA-certified astronaut so he could join a mission on The Nautilus, an experimental spacecraft designed for long-range space exploration deep into the Sol system.

During the mission, The Nautilus was attacked by a strange alien spacecraft with technology far in advance of its own, and Buck was gravely wounded while attempting to pilot the ship to safety after the primary pilot was killed. He was placed in one of the ship’s cryostasis chambers before it was destroyed. With the crew presumed killed or missing in action, the wreck of The Nautilus sat adrift in space for centuries until it was found by illegal scavengers hoping to sell it. However, HuerTech was able to obtain the wreck, reviving its lone survivor.

After 300 years, Buck awakened to an Earth he didn't recognise, controlled by an ineffectual government and corrupt megacorporations, covered in sprawling megacities and towering archologies, and a solar system filled with strange, advanced technologies, odd, gene-twisted humans and the occasional alien lifeform.

I was also thinking that if you're familiar with it, we could add in some elements of the Barsoom series, since they'd fit together quite well!

On the Barsoom side, I was thinking that your character could be a Red Martian who, like Buck, was also catapulted through time into a future they don't recognise.

The idea I had was that as the few remaining Atmosphere Factories on Barsoom began to fail, the Red and Green Martians would band together, using ancient Thern technology to place themselves into suspended animation (similar to the film) in a great subterranean temple, protecting them from total extinction as their world became the barren, lifeless rock we know today. After many centuries, they would be discovered by humans who have long since colonised Mars, ruled over by tyrannical plutocrats and megacorporations.
