Dipaculao to Cubao?

Hi! We’re going to visit Sand and Stars in Dipaculao and we’re trying to figure out how to get back to Cubao by bus. 😅

Does anyone know where we can ride a bus going to Cubao? Are there terminals nearby or do buses just pass along the highway that we can wait for?

Would really appreciate any tips or directions. Thank you!

From a street kitten drinking rainwater to living like the spoiled baby boi he is

I found this little guy hanging with a street shoemaker a year and a half ago, drinking rainwater from a cut up jug. Tinanong ko kung pwede ko ba siya ampunin and he said "Sige lang. Wag lang yung puti (yung nanay niya)" 😂😅

Now he has his own bed (na hindi niya tinutulugan kasi mas gusto niya sa sofa at sa basahan. hays), a variety of food and treats, and a whole family wrapped around his paws.

Love u Maki mah boi

Anyone else paying 2k+3k pesos to watch well-known photographers flex, plug sponsors, and call it a 'workshop' or a 'masterclass'?

Honest question for fellow PH based photographers…

Has anyone else paid 2000–3,000+ pesos for a “workshop” or “masterclass” expecting actual education… only to realize you basically bought a ticket to someone’s portfolio slideshow, life story, sponsored gear presentation and a raffle/giveaway?

I’ve attended 3 of these now. Won't name any names but these are genuinely big names in the industry, and I’m starting to notice a pattern.

You expect:

-hands-on shooting

-lighting setups you can actually try

-guided exercises

-real-time critique

-workflow breakdowns

-problem-solving and creative decision-making

Instead it’s usually:

-“Here’s my journey…”

-“Here’s my award-winning work…”

-“Here’s why I use (insert sponsor brand here)

-”BTS clips

-sponsor shoutouts

-giveaway announcements every other hour to keep the energy up

-quick Q&A

-everyone goes home ₱2k–₱3k lighter

And what makes it more upsetting is I’ve also attended smaller, more intimate workshops, half the price, maybe 5–10 people where the speaker actually walked us through their workflow, gave us exercises, let us shoot, make mistakes, get critiqued, and actually learn.

So now I’m genuinely wondering why do some of the bigger “masterclasses” feel less like workshops and more like paid brand activations where giveaways, sponsor plugs, and celebrity names are what fill seats?

Am I just unlucky, or has anyone else in the PH photography scene felt this too?

What, to you, actually separates a real workshop from an expensive presentation?
