The harsh truth of applying for med
I just got an offer to study medicine!! However one thing that medicine taught me is that the fastest way to killl you career is not a lack of knowledge or anything like that it’s your ego. For reference I had done poorly in my ucat 1890 B2 but I strategically applied and secured interviews and got 2 offers and a waitlist at the end. One thing that I saw with people online and in person was the inability to processes that they simply just didn’t have the necessary requirements to apply for certain courses. For example one of my friends not having correct GCSE’s and applying even when minimum GCSE requirements were published. Others online applying to UCAT heavy universities with an average or below average ucat just because they do not want to go to a less prestigious uni. The list goes on but the point I’m trying to make is that if medicine is the path you want to take then you shouldn’t allow something as easy to fix as you ego stop you as it has many others
Edit as people are asking what unis I applied to
Keele, hull York, Manchester and Leicester. I got offers from HYMS and keele and I am going to keele.
