List of Cold spaces

Hi all, some councils around the country have created a map of cold spaces that people can use to get out of the sun and recouperate (e.g., Welcome Spaces | Leeds.gov.uk).

I haven't seen this resource for Wakefield so thought we could list some places we know that are good to cool down in.

To start:

Wakefield One Library has air con, they don't offer water but there's the cafe in the building. They're open 6 days a week Wakefield Library - Wakefield Council

Lawn options advice

Hi folks, we have a small north facing lawn that goes up to this wall. We recently hatld to pull up some box plants in that patch of earth due to box blight. I was looking for some advice on what to do next:

  1. the lawn needs resowing due to too much moss so we could just extend it up to the wall.
  2. we could plant something else to boarder it - in which case I'm interested in ideas for shade-liking plants that would sit happily against the wall. Any advice on either of these options or anything else would be welcome! Thanks

Hi folks, i have underfloor pipes that feed the radiator in a downstairs bathroom. I'm aware this set up isn't ideal from a maintenance pov but it was the previous owners.

We've had to dig beneath to access the pipes and I'm looking at repairing the floor now. My question is what i should use to fill the floor: is this simply some concrete repair or is that going to damage the pipe as it dries? Do I need some sort of insulation? Any advice welcome.
