Beginner fingerstyle — looking for tips
I’m a 25-year-old guy and I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for about a year. I mostly know chords, strumming, and a little lead, but I don’t know much about fingerstyle.
Right now I mostly just doodle around on the guitar without really knowing what I should learn next.
I recorded this simple fingerstyle piece. Any tips on how I can improve, or suggestions for songs/exercises and a good learning path?
Would really appreciate any feedback!
How do you guys play Major 7 barre chords?
I’m a 25-year-old guy and have been playing guitar for about a year. I’m comfortable with regular barre chords, but I’m struggling with Major 7 barre chords. The D string always ends up muted for me, and I can’t seem to get it to ring cleanly.
Any technical tips or adjustments that helped you guys? Different fingering or thumb position? Or is it just a matter of practice?
Would love to know how you play them.
Edit :: My pinky is not being used and I am trying to play the Dominant 7 chord.
Where do you guys take your parents when they visit you in Noida?
I’m a 25-year-old guy living in Noida for work. My parents are coming from my hometown to visit me for a couple of days, and I want to take them out and show them around.
For those of you living in Noida/Delhi, where do you usually take your parents when they visit? Looking for places that are actually worth visiting—good food, sightseeing, peaceful places, or just something nice to do together.
Would love some recommendations!
Are my calluses developing normally?
I'm a 25 y/o guy who started taking guitar seriously a few months ago. I practice almost daily on acoustic, mainly working on chords, scales, lead playing and improvisation.
My fingertips have started developing calluses, but sometimes the skin gets dry and peels a little. Finger pain isn't much of an issue anymore, but I'm not sure if I should keep playing or take a day or two off when this happens.
Also, my pinky has almost no callus 😂
For experienced players, does this look normal? Any tips for building and maintaining calluses without damaging the skin?
