Inherited from my father

My father was a huge Eric Clapton fan and actually took us to the Royal Albert Hall to watch him. I inherited this from him. Signed by B. B. King, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett & Bo Diddley. I have started to learn guitar myself and when I’m good enough I’m going to play it.

Hello! (Electric guitar noobness)

So... i bought this...

I have been playing roughly for 4-5 months, on an acoustic. Then i thought. I want an electric as well. And without researching alot except for guitars. I bought this. Only to find out that everything i've been playing sounds different.. feels different.. i do love the guitar and sound tho' so no regrets, but..

Is someone able to help me from here..

What should i know/learn from here?

I know basic open chords.can change somewhat okay between them.. Ive been practicing loosing my religion, dust in the wind and street spirit (fade out) - but.. all on acoustic. - none of it is by any means totally clean or perfect. But its gettin' better.

(I also go to a private teacher every 14 days, so ofcourse he also will help, but still wanted to post this for some advice)

Hopefully some of you have some inputs.

Thanks in advance.

How to improve/solo better?

I’ve been playing for almost a year now. I’ve got my basic open chords down and can finally hit barre chords consistently. However, my main goal is to transition into playing lead and improvising solos.

I recently got a looper pedal, so I’ve been throwing down a quick chord progression and trying to solo over it, but honestly... it’s sounding pretty rough. I know I’m missing some foundational pieces here.

Based on the video, what do you think I should focus on next to get better? Scales, phrasing, technique? Open to any and all constructive criticism. Thanks!

Alternate picking tip

Just a quick tip on a few things that help develop a stronger alternate picking technique! For additional resources, check out Troy Grady’s series called cracking the code. Lots of great info there!

Have a great day, and feel free to leave a comment!

What effects are amp-exclusive?

Looking for my first ever amp. I've heard that in most cases effect pedals sound better than when they're built into an amp. That's why I'm thinking about buying an amp, and buying all the effect pedals seperately (e.g. overdrive). So what amp would I be looking for? What effects do they have? Also would you recommend to do what I'm thinking of?

Aiming for a budget of up to 300 euros maybe, but can differ.

Is this barre or two finger?

How should I really play this? My teacher says two fingers but my wrist don't feel so good about it.

My first electric guitar! (I’m gonna cry)

Isn’t she a beauty?! So I’ve been playing chords on acoustic guitar for years but I’ve never played electric. I have decided to get myself an electric guitar and start learning to use it in my music. Excited for the journey. All beginner learning tips are always appreciated!

And tips??

I apologize in advance for my shit English it’s my 4th language man

Ok hi I’m new to guitar and need tips on a few things especially because I’m self taught, I’ve had my guitar for about 3 years and learned a few basic thing but never actually tried to play. Starting yesterday that has changed and I’ve already got a blister the size of my 3 year old nieces fucking nostril. Is that it fault for practicing 5 hours? Probably. But it’s whatever I played again today too for 3! But on a serious note does anyone have tips for blisters and strumming, also playing a fucking chord or anything using three frets for that matter because what the fuck? It’s like being twister with your hands while being fucked in the ass. Doesn’t help I’m 15 and built like 9 Tips would be much appreciated thank you!!!

My honest guitar progress after 221 days

So I’m 34, and 221 days ago I decided to finally chase a childhood dream of mine — learning to play electric guitar. This video is a pretty honest look at where I’m at after 221 days. I’m completely self-taught, no teachers or anything, but I make sure to put in at least an hour every single day. And I mean every day😅

Sharing the journey

I just want more people who are new to be okay with not being proficient, sure we all strive for perfection but it takes a long time to get there. I’ll be 100 by the time I’m any good. Here is me bumbling through “fly me to the moon” ultimately we are here to have fun. Keep at it and don’t beat yourself up too much about it.

So many errors online. It’s really frustrating when you follow bad instructions and lock in something totally wrong

How to take off guitar when strapped?

Is there a YouTube video demonstrating how to take off an electric guitar with strap? Not how to remove the strap, not how to remove some part of the guitar. What I mean is, when you're wearing the guitar strapped, how do u then take it off properly, without detaching the strap? I keep bumping my head. I wear it pretty high.

I saw this video which helpfully shows how to PUT ON the strap, but not how to remove:

Thanks!
