8 months in. This was the song that made me quit the first time around, but now that I have the fundamentals (somewhat) down, it’s going a lot better!

Apologies for audio quality. Not great at editing

Monuments

Be still first.
Be still and listen for it.
Listen for the rustling of the–

golden straws of hay in the field,
blowing in the late spring wind.
Listen as they dance–

around the corpses of fallen brethren,
bundled together in old, worn ropes.

Outside the Nursing Home

The old oak pavilion with the white railing
overlooks a clean green lawn where the grass is neatly trimmed.

A few small flowers still peer defiantly past the dirt,
but the trimmer will get those soon.

Overcoming my fear of singing

Hiya! This is a video of me singing and playing the first half of River Man by Nick Drake. I’m 5 months into my guitar journey and wanna start singing while playing, but I’ve always hated my singing voice.

This is as bare bones as it gets. I have no experience singing and have done no exercises. I am not under any idea that my singing sounds remotely good haha. Any tips on how to improve on my own (too shy and can’t afford teacher/coach) would be super helpful!!
