What guitar is this and what strings would be best for it if tuned to C Standard?
I bought this guitar from a local store, it was labeled ‘Squier Telecaster’ and nothing else. As far as the electronics go, it works just fine. I believe it’s a 2004 Squier Tele Custom II, but I mostly want to know that as using distortion gave me a muddy, overall bad tone and I want to know what the pickups are made to play (distortion is a Behringer OD300 and amp is a Fender Frontman 15G that work perfectly fine on my HSS Squier Strat which I have played Acid Bath, Deftones, and System Of A Down in with no issue, if that matters). Also, I want to keep this guitar tuned around C♯-C Standard and Drop B. I’m thinking of getting 12-56 strings for that purpose but the 11-54 I have right now make fret buzz and have really high action starting around the 12th fret if I adjust the truss rod. Is any of what I’m trying to do possible on this guitar or is there adjustments I might need to make so it is possible?
