A job in qatar.

I'm being offered a job in qatar as a junior dev where accommodation and transportation is provided and company sponsored visa and air ticket, and the sal is 120k net .

Is it worth it considering i will have to trade off my social life and environment? Also they work 6 days a week with 2 days being half days .

Self awareness is a curse

When you know too much, you lose interest in many things that ordinary people enjoy. Like now,i have a friend who is situationally unaware, low EQ,naive and very stupid but he is the happiest . Someone grown btw. Almost all his girlfriends cheat on him but he can't detect anything. The latest one cheated on him and i tried to warn him, instead of the guy thinking that I'm helping him,he thought i wanted his b!tch or I'm jealous. Mara ya mwisho aliwachwa na madharau vibaya sana.

Being a side dude more than being the main guy, taught me that even the most "faithful" still cheats, having women married to stable and satisfying dudes beg you to fvck them,37 year olds kinda married women fucking your 27 yr old buddy rewires and fucks up your mind. Like rn i lost interest in marriage kabisa. It looks like a humiliating ritual to me. Many dudes don't like accepting this reality. They are so deluded and tend to think their women are this "pure and innocent" thing,and/or they have been the boyfriend/husband their whole life so they are so out of touch with reality.

Another thing ni religion. I deconstructed, argues things logically and i know no deity that is there watching over you and responding to you only when you pray but also this deity does that selectively but again you have to hope.

It's so funny how i realized I have to be mediocre to enjoy many things in life. Self awareness is a blessing and a curse

How are you doing mentally? Especially the unemployed

It's been a whole year plus of joblessness after graduation and honestly I'm losing it.

I have skills( took over 7 months to learn) but getting that entry role has been the hardest. People will come with their advice on how to apply, thinking like you are the lazy one and not the scarcity of jobs.

Also people nowadays hire internally and through referrals before the job gets posted, most of the times they will have the candidate and they are just posting for formality. Most of them are ghost jobs.

Sending like 20 applications daily,no response or we regret to inform you.....eeei tutapata kupona my lord!!

A well paying job outside of kenya.

So a while back I asked why finding a remote tech job felt like such a hustle (timezone restrictions, lowball offers, endless boards, etc.). One of the most practical answers I got was: stop waiting on job boards and start cold pitching clients directly.

Makes sense. But here's the gap I'm stuck on: where do you even find the right people/companies to pitch?

Do you go straight to LinkedIn DMs?

Are there platforms/directories people use to source leads?

Is it smarter to target startups, agencies, or solo founders?

How do you avoid coming across as spammy while still getting noticed?

For those of you who've successfully landed gigs through cold pitching, what's your process for finding those opportunities in the first place?

I'm less interested in generic "just network" advice. I am looking for practical channels and strategies that actually worked for you.

I underquoted my salary

Hear me out. I was in an interview today for an entry role in tech(ERP) dev, and all went well untill it came to " what is your salary expectations?" I tried to dodge and deflect the question to them but the hr was stubborn asf! Nilisema range (40k-80k) coz pia sikua nataka kuover quote juu sina experience saana hivo but i came to learn juniors over there earn up to 90k upwards . The role was not advertised as a junior,it was a cold pitch and that's why I'm saying i underquoted.

They might give me the lowest of the quotation. But it's the nervousness of your first tech role ...fvuuuck!

I hate it when they occur. Ni kama flares. Shida ni ati najua hakuna mtu anaeza nisaidia. Growing older, joblessness ndio hio each day sending about 15-20 applications with reponses being we regret to inform or ghosting while seeing your peers doing well( na mtu asiniambie i should not compare myself coz i ain't getting any younger).Tutapata kupona kweli?

Fvck this life manze! Leo hata sina nguvu ya kufanya anything.

Its been over a year without a job after graduation. Im being hosted by a relative and its becoming exhausting now.

Every day since april 2026,i do over 20 applications and some never reply, others give take home assignments and ghost after i deliver.

I'm tired of my mom calling each day asking me "umefika wapi? What's the progress"

I feel so lesser and I can't even afford to go anywhere or do anything because I'm just a liability without anything in mid 20's

Eeiii sina pawaaaaaa

I recently applied for some tech job after which they responded with a take home assignment.

But now they want me to do the work and send them an email attaching a zip file of the work and a good ReadMe. My question is why do they want the zip file ? Why can't they schedule a meeting so that i showcase what i have done, after finishing the assignment if they truly wanna know my skills to hire me?

Inaeza kuwa ni kazi wanataka niwafanyie bure
