Things that hit different after passing the CPA exam

- A full weekend with zero guilt
- Opening Netflix without that voice in your head
- Sleeping in on a Saturday like a normal human
- Telling people you're a CPA and meaning it

lol, thought I'd let yall either celebrate seeing this or it will push you to experience it!

Something alot of first timers take a while to understand;

Something alot of first timers take a while to understand is, its never about the intensity, its about the quality and consistency. It doesnt matter how long or hard you study if you dont understand how your supposed to study the area in a way that fits you, and how consistently you do it.

Was it BAR, ISC, or TCP?

Genuine question for everyone who's already chosen their discipline

What made you pick BAR, ISC, or TCP?

Im asking I'm curious what actually pushed people to decide. Was it your background? Career goals? Or did you just pick the one that sounded least terrifying? lol

Honestly speaking, the morning of the CPA exam

morning of the CPA exam:

  • 6am: 'Feeling good, I'm ready'
  • 7am: 'Reviewed my notes, still good'
  • 8am: 'Pulling in, confident'
  • 8:04am: 'The parking lot alone has given me 3 new anxiety symptoms'"

What's the one FAR topic that just REFUSES to click no matter how many times you review it?

What are yall are stuck on right now? We see this a lot with a few specific areas, and once its explained simply it sticks. Happy to break down anything in the comments if it helps, just want to see what's tripping people up most this exam window.

  • opening my review course
  • the number 74 (the number that shall not be named)

Studying or doing everything else but?

"Told myself I'd study 3 hours today. Studied 40 minutes. Spent the rest of the time researching better study techniques instead of actually studying."

lmao who is suffering from this rn? 😂😭😭

Things nobody talks about when they say 'go get your CPA'

  • The moment you realize FAR has more content than your entire college accounting degree
  • Paying to literally sit in a room and be humbled by a computer
  • Studying a topic for two weeks, nailing it, then seeing it once on the exam in a way you've never seen before
  • The specific pain of THE NUMBER THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED
  • Explaining to non-accountants why you can't hang out "just this weekend"
  • Getting a passing score and feeling nothing because you're too exhausted to celebrate
  • The way your family says "so are you done yet?" every single holiday

But also. Worth it.

FAR studying stages, in order:

I seriously think this is the life cycle

  1. "This isn't so bad actually"
  2. "Ok revenue recognition is kind of tricky but I got it"
  3. "What is a modified accrual basis and why does it exist"
  4. "There are how many fund types"
  5. "I have forgotten what year it is"
  6. "I think I passed......maybe? possibly? hopefully?..........aaaaahhhhhhh"

lol, correct me if I'm wrong
